Two Silver Lake Regional School District teenagers may face charges for allegedly having sex on a school bus on the way to school as several of their classmates egged them on, according to police.

A 15-year-old middle school girl performed oral sex on a 16-year-old high school boy Dec. 12 as the bus traveled its normal route to the high school and junior high school, which are in separate towns, according to police and school officials. The Silver Lake school district includes Kingston, Halifax, and Plympton.

Those on the bus who cheered on the couple may also be charged, according to police.

Details about the incident were sketchy last night as the Plymouth district attorney's office, which is handling the case, declined to comment. No official charges were filed.

KINGSTON, Mass. (AP) Two students face charges after engaging in a sex act on a school bus while other students cheered, police said.

The alleged incident happened on Dec. 12 as the bus was en route to Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston and Silver Lake Regional Junior High School in Pembroke, said police Lt. David Griffiths.

Griffiths said a 15-year-old female junior high school student performed oral sex on a 16-year-old male high school student as three students cheered. School officials reported the incident to police the same day.

Griffiths said all students involved, including those who cheered, will be charged with a week or two.

''We're not exactly sure what we're charging them with,'' he told the Patriot Ledger of Quincy.

Silver Lake Regional High School Principal Richard Kelley said the students were disciplined, but would not say if they were suspended.

Bill O'Reilly feels that he needs to know what the school principal is going to do about this. I don't think that its any of Bill o'Reilly's business. I don't think that this should be a national news story, if so, it would dominate national news 24/7. While condeming the actions of this misguided children, I don't think this is something that should be on cable news. I don't understand why O'Reilly feels everyone has to answer to him.

I have chaperoned teenagers on a three day trip where this occured, and then at a different time the same girl got caught at school in the stairwell doing the same thing. It was reported to the principal and then to her parents. Where it went from there, I don't know, but I don't think that it was newspaper worthy, much less national news worthy.

Are only students with cars allowed to have a quickie before class? This has been common for years in school parking lots all over the country.

...Usually, the same bus picks up middle school students and high school students, although the students sit in different areas - older students in the back and younger ones up front. It was unclear where the couple was on the bus.

School officials became aware of the incident the day it occurred and immediately reported it to police. Citing confidentiality rules, school Superintendent Gordon Noseworthy declined to say how school officials learned about the act, or how many students were on the bus or involved.

''The school thoroughly investigated the issue and applied its code of conduct appropriately,'' Noseworthy said.

Richard Kelley, principal of Silver Lake High School, said he has already punished the students involved, but declined to say how, other than it was ''appropriate discipline.''

''Obviously, we are concerned about the safety, health, and welfare of students,'' Kelley said.

As news of the incident spread around town yesterday, some School Committee members said they were upset that they were not officially informed. Committee member Brian Caseau said he learned about it from news accounts, and was worried about the lack of communication between the school administration and community leaders.

''I have someone in Pensacola [Fla.] reading about a student in my town at the same time as I am. It is offensive,'' he said. ''This [communication] isn't a request we have made of the administration. This is something we have required from them. And they haven't complied.''

Most of the kids on that bus are doomed to lead degraded, debased, lives.

A few will claw their way out of the pit. But at what cost.
