Hooray for Washington State GOP Chairman Chris Vance, one of the few Republican leaders with the guts to take on Sen. Patty "Osama Mama" Murray.
Vance responded to Murray's defense today of her praise of mass-murdering terrorist Osama bin Laden as a philanthropist, remarks that many media, including the powerful New York Times, continue to refuse to report.
Caught in a Senate hallway today by Fox News Channel, Murray said: "I have to tell you that it's really important that people don't twist or construe remarks that were made to an AP student group in a Vancouver high school.
"We all know, everyone in this country knows, that Usama bin Laden is an evil terrorist, and in my remarks I told the students we're taking the right steps now. The question is what do we do next ... and it's an important question," Murray said before rushing off.
FNC showed footage of her controversial remarks to high school students Dec. 18 in Vancouver, Wash. It is unclear why there has been such a delay in the release of the smoking gun.
The network also reported this evening that the article praising Murray on Taliban Online continues weeks later to be the most widely read item on that pro-terrorist Web site.
Vance today pointed out that Murrays original comments have not been misconstrued and that she is trying to change the subject to try to protect herself from political fallout.
"Patty Murray and her handlers are obviously trying to make it look like her enemies in the right-wing establishment are cynically twisting her words, said Vance. "Obviously, the Murray camp wants this story to go away fast. But at some point Senator Murray is going to have to stop running away from her own words.
'Provide Evidence'
"We have asked Patty Murray to either provide evidence to back up what she said about Osama bin Ladens alleged charitable efforts and Americas failure to give to Third World countries, or to retract her comments. Senator Murray has not responded.
"We have also asked Patty Murray to engage in some form of public discussion about U.S. foreign policy, since she herself has stressed the importance of having a dialogue on this very important issue. But again, Senator Murray has not responded.
He concluded: "Patty Murray is the senior senator from our state. She needs to quit playing the blame game and explain what she said to the people of Washington.
About Those Roads and 'Schools'
FNC investigated Murray's bizarre claims of bin Laden's supposed charitable works and found them lacking.
As Fox News noted, "most of those roads were built to take soldiers to and from training camps, the schools built were madrasas, which often indoctrinate students to the bin Laden brand of Islam, and the hospitals were not intended for average Muslims but for injured Mujahadeen fighters battling the Soviets."
"Diplomats, biographers and aid workers all say bin Ladens popularity does not stem from his benevolence, but from his message of hate towards Israel and the United States."
As for Murray's hallucination that bin Laden built "day-care facilities" in regions where, until the U.S. intervened, terrorized women had to cover themselves head to toe and could not leave the home unescorted, much less have careers, we'll let her handlers dream up an excuse for that one.

It isn't even the question of evidence. First of all Bin Laden didn't do any of what Patty is giving him credit for, and even if he had, Bin Laden's atrocities far outweigh anything else which he may have done, which he didn't.
I just happened to run across this about Hitler (see below), it's a real parallel to what Patty said about Bin Laden, would it be OK for a US Senator to praise Hitler?
"Other German accomplishments that occurred under Hitler are the creations of the Autobahn and the compact car. Another accomplishment of Hitler was the efficiency of the German State. Unlike our present system here in the United States, Germany ran like a finely tuned machine. Government transportation ran on time or even early. It was said that you could set your watch to the trains. Government, banking, and all other government programs were efficient and effective. Hitler was a dictator and a very demanding one. This level of efficiency made it easier for Hitler to first off bring Germany back to a powerful and prosperous state, and secondly it made it easier for him to retain his power. So long as everything ran efficiently and effectively the people were happy. The result of a happy power base is that Hitler gained a carte blanche, and his people would follow."

Why don't Democrats understand, that praising Bin Laden for his "accomplishments" and implying that we, the US should learn from him, is NO DIFFERENT than praising mass butcher Hitler for his "accomplishments." First of all, Bin Laden didn't do anything "for the people" that Murray is giving him credit for, and second of all, his horrendous acts completely overshadow anything else he may or may have done, SAME as it does for Hitler.
If a US Senator would get up and talk about Hitler's accomplishments, saying we should be more like hims, I am sure everyone would be horrified and demand her immediate resignation, rightly so.
Her praise of Bin Laden, mass murderer of Americans, who is plotting more mass murders as we speak, is no different.
MURRAY SHOULD RESIGN.

We need to keep this story alive......May I suggest letters to your local newpapers? Express your outrage & demand Murray apologize to the families of 9-11 victims of Osama bin Laden's terrorist network!

I hope so. Vance is up for election this month, he needs to do something. Not that I'm a fan but, he has done a couple of things I really approve. He's built a pretty good database for County Chairs and PCO's that's getting better daily as more names are added.
Elephant Hunt. Last cycle, for every new GOP voter the PCO's identified the State gave that county party dollars. We got $16,000.00 here in Kitsap County. That helped us elect a Republican County Commissioner giving us a MAJORITY for the first time in 34 years. The cash also helped us keep a senator and house representative in office.

Again I'll bring up Marge Schott - remember her anyone? She was booted from baseball ownership in large part because she said of Hitler "he did some good things, but then went too far". At least ol' Marge threw in the "went too far" part. So why is it OK for Murray to praise the world's current biggest Jew-hater and mass murderer?
To: FairOpinion
Like Pres.Bush said, our enemies are among us but what he
failed to tell us is many of our enemies are within our own
government. Torrocelli never went to jail and he was given
the right to resign. How much of our tax dollars is going to him for his pension? Remember the Impeachment?
Covering up a crime or in Clinton's case, CRIMES, TREASON,
makes them as guilty as the person that committed the crime. Most Democrats and some Republicans belong behind bars. Schumer got away with election fraud and got a chance to vote twice to keep Clinton in office.
Our constitution gives us the right to demand our elected
officials remove the corruption from our government and if
they doon't then they must resign.
THE NEWS MEDIA FORCED TRENT LOTT TO STEP DOWN, WITH STRONG
ARE TACTICS AND FBI FILES.
If Fox news was fair and ballanced they would do the same
to Murray and Hitlary like they did to Lott.
What ever happen to Daschle's phony Amthrax scare?

Excellent point. This would have greater "legs" with her being labeled as the anti-semite she obviously is. Thought Crimes nailed Lott. She eloquently stated on tape what she believes. Nail her to the cross.
To: JeanS
Good stuff.
Murray is hoping that if she keeps her mouth shut and ignores this issue that it will just vanish into thin air and she can continue her leftist agenda.
Let's keep her feet to the fire.

There is at least some consolation knowing that she is squirming and no doubt kicking herself in the $ss for making such remarks.

From my understanding she made remarks such as these on numerous occasions. She is obviously not very intelligent nor qualified to be a US Senator. My only hope is that those with the ability to make life hard for her disect her comments for what they truly imply. Bin Laden was responsible for many US soldier deaths in Somolia. Intel knew. Clinton denied C-130 support and the results will live in infamy. The tie in must be made. US soldiers perished, jews die almost daily, we send money to these bastards and yet we are not doing enough as a nation. A public apology is necessary. Get Jewish World Review on it. Get the parents of the lost soldiers on it. Get the soldiers on it who have first hand experience. Let the missionaries speak out as well as all other peaceful international volunteers who have put their lives in harms way to assist the poor people in need. If you really look into what her comments mean implying treason is not an unreasonable end.
To: davisdoug
Her comments, while made stupidly, do in fact tell a lot about her inner beliefs. BTW, at least one of the relatives of 911 victims did get some press speaking out about her comments.

"We all know, everyone in this country knows, that Usama bin Laden is an evil terrorist, ...Someone needs to interview some of those students and see if this statement squares with what they thought she was telling them in school. It certainly doesn't wash with me.

OSAMETTE Murray should be pressured to give the source(s) of her information. She appears to have a much different view of her buddy OSAMA than the majority of sane, pulse bearing people!
