- Do you know the alleged times of day he left and returned? -

From the reports I have seen, he was gone from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. He would probably miss rush hour traffic going in to Berkeley, but, on the way home he wouldn't be so lucky.

Can you change the html on the two images I posted to the following respectively. Thumbnails are better and the link to the original was broken:

Do we know for certain that he left home at 9:30 AM? I thought that no one really knew Laci's whereabouts since Dec. 23. Is there a witness who saw him leave, or one that knows when he picked up the boat? In other words, could he have gone to Bezerkley (I used to live there, so I can say that) and out toward's the island before low tide at 9:00 AM?

And my husband used to fish there in a boat about that size when he was a student at UC -- slightly higher sides on it. He and his friend used to ROW it. He got an outboard motor for graduation. Of course, he was young and dumb and the Marina wasn't nearly as built up then. I don't think he went beyond the pier -- just poked around the pilings.

Remember where we are: this is the place where we support individual rights, note government abuses, and so on.

This man is in the crosshairs of the state of California. The state has virtually infinite resources that they will bring to bear on him. Shall I say that he is not entitled to a lawyer, to keep them from making his life a 24-hour hell, to keep him from being grilled and intimidated in near-torture conditions for six, eight, ten hours without food, water, or a bathroom?

And it's not just the police he's up against. I happened to see a bit of the local TV news (Oakland, KTVU channel 2) the other day. The reporter was speculating about why he wouldn't want to "clear his name" -- that was the phrase -- and tell his story to the police. Just like Richard Jewell or Steven Hatfill, maybe? Clear his name! So much for Innocent Until Proven Guilty!

And if he is guilty, he is still, and just as much, entitled to a lawyer to keep from getting railroaded. I have a BIG problem with him subjecting himself to the Third Degree as some implied duty as a citizen.

When I went into labor with our first...My husband insisted on driving the opposite direction from the hospital to visited a gun shop in another town to pick up a part that he had had crafted! We got to the parking lot of the shop and I was just screaming for him to turn around and take me to the hosipital. Of course the baby didn't come for another 12 hours, but it seemed urgent at the time.

He did something weird with every child. On my last one we had to drive through a tunnel. It was a rainy night and there was an accident right outside the tunnel with an ambulence, police, and flashing lights. Instead of slowing down, he floored the accelorator. I screamed, "What are you doing?" He answered that the accident victim would be going to the same hospital and he wanted to get me there first!

That little caper scared the wits out of me so that labor totally stopped, but the baby was born 5 hours later -- but so suddenly that they did not have time to administer any anesthesia.

We're still married -- 44 years later. We haven't killed each other, although I'm sure that it has been contemplated from time to time.

The local news this evening had an interview with the Modesto Police Chief. He said "If you knew what we knew you would understand why we are searching the Marina."

Slight correction. The local interview was with Detective Ridenour. I realized that when I saw his picture on Greta's show. I think they mislabeled the caption on the previous newscast.

Regardless, this IS big! I wonder what they know? Did they find an insurance policy or a secret girlfriend? Does this have something to do with the blue tarp? Tune in tomorrow.......

The family is still in major denial. They are confident the object will not be Laci because "Scott had nothing to do with it." They continue to believe it was a stranger abduction.

What you said, about an insurance policy...

I still subscribe to the notion, posted by someone on one of these threads, that a person wanting to collect life insurance would have made sure the body was found, quickly.

But there are other things. What about a possible inheritance? This couple lived well, and it could easily have been just from their own earnings, BUT it could also have been because maybe Laci had had an inheritance or something. Maybe that property had been placed in some account on which Scott was made the joint owner. If so, if she dies, he's the sole owner, and that's even without probate.

And there is the question of, who contributed over $300,000 to the reward fund? Someone, who seems to have thought a lot of Laci, appears to have a good bit of money available. Who?

Has anyone read the Enquirer article? I know a lot posters here might laugh at me for quoting from the article but sometimes the Enquirer can pick up some information that later proves accurate.

"Modesto cops have been checking tips that Scott, who traveled a lot , had a girlfriend, and that Laci may have been seeing an old boyfriend"

another comment form a neighbor

"The strange thing was that, when he came rushing over, he ws clean and nicly dressed in a blue long \-sleeved dress shirt and khaki dress pants. He didn't look like a guy who'd just been fishing"

Some other quotes from the article

"Cops believe that before he gave the alarm, Scott may have mopped the kitchen floor, talen a shower and changed his clothes. They're puzzled by that."

"The othere strange thing was that Laci always opened the drapes when she was home during the day. It struck me strange that the drapes were closed all day."

"Cops are skeptical about Scott Peterson's story that he went fishing" said the insideer. Apart from the fact no one saw him, fishermen usually like to be out on the water early in the morning, when the fish are biting."

And that little boat is better for lake fishing than the rough waters of San Francisco bay. Experienced fishermen say they wouldn't go out on the Bay in it."

just thought that they were interesting points that reflect some of your posts.
