Is it possible this is part of a disinformation campaign? Maybe, like the media in the 1991 Gulf War, some of the players don't even know they are part of the disinformation?

It seems to me that, on our side of the pond and yours, a suspiciously large amount of public discussion of war plans and timetables and so forth is occurring.

Your minister just returned from Turkey having been rebuffed. Seeing British troops in number in Northern Iraq, let alone in Turkey would make many of us ill even after all these years.

You may have learned about Kut, then Mudros, then Sevres and finally Lausanne, where Britain played the leading role in wresting the oilfields from us. I feel it was quite brazen of the fellow to come asking..

I do not blame your leadership for feeling slightly worried about the possible complications which could arise from this arguably an extra-terror-war excursion. First time I read this on Drudge I decided that it was just for consumption in Iraq. It keeps Saddam courting inspectors rather than threatening to distribute anthrax or worse. The battle group will go when the pieces are in place.
