The New Haven Register reports that Senator Joseph Lieberman has told allies that he will announce his candidacy next Monday in Stamford.
A close friend of Sen. Bob Graham also told us yesterday that the Flordia Democrat had a toe in the 2004 Presidential waters, [but with the non running of Gore and Daschle] he has now dipped a full foot in.
Another adivsor confimed to the ABC Political Unit that Graham had continued to sound out his core group of fundraisers from campaigns past.
We think that the Senator from Florida is at least a week away from deciding.
The Orlando Sentinel has an article that place Graham on the precipice of running for President, 'The Democratic Senators planned breakfast with investment giant Warren Buffett is another indication that Graham is serious about challenging President Bush in 2004.'
The meeting with one of the world richest men -a close friend of the Graham family- is just another in a series of sessions Florida's senior Senator has scheduled, including talks with Washington campaign experts.
He is also phoning potential supports who could help launch a campaign in the early battlefields of Iowa and New Hampshire.

Imagine if Lieberman eventually chooses Blinky Edwards as his running mate. Lieberman would tawk-reel-slo and Blinky would blink real fast. The Democrats don't have people running for office, they have cartoons.

Awful lot of senators running. Guess they don't plan on doing much work in the senate! It's gonna be a long year.

Lieberman, a supposedly devout person, chose to associate hismelf with the slime of Clinton/Gore. Having allied himself with the most corrupt gang of political shysters in recent history, he thinks he can run despite his now irreperably tarnished reputation.
To top it off, those of us who are old enough remember a Presidential candidate whose voice and delivery were a dead on match for Lieberman. At the time it was a big joke. Our country has indeed sunk if this kind of speaker can be considered for the oval office.

Wasn't Lieberman excommunicated during the 2000 Presidential campaign by a New York Rabbinical council? Seems like he had to reverse his opposition (along with some of his other convictions) to partial-birth abortions in order to align his core beliefs with that of Algore's. Does anyone know if that council every reversed their fiat?

The primaries are fronloaded this year so the race will probably be over by next March.
That is why there will be so much coverage this year in off-election time.

That's who he reminds me of -- Pat Paulson. All during the 2000 campaign I had the feelng he reminded me of someone but I could not place who it was.
You have nailed it!
