By TY PHILLIPS BEE STAFF WRITER As the widespread search for Laci Peterson continued Monday, nine divers spent a second consecutive day focusing on a small section of Lake Tulloch.
Sheriff's divers from Stanislaus and Calaveras counties concentrated in the area under O'Byrnes Ferry Bridge at the border of Tuolumne and Calaveras counties.
Patrick Kelly, a member of the Stanislaus dive team, said he didn't know whether a tip or evidence might have pointed investigators to Tulloch, but nothing had been found there so far.
Police did not return calls seeking comment about the Lake Tulloch search effort Monday.
At an afternoon news conference, police said there were no significant developments in the case, now in its second week.
Laci Peterson was reported missing on Christmas Eve. Her husband, Scott Peterson, told police he last saw her that morning as he left for a fishing trip at the Berkeley Marina.
The last time Laci Peterson is known to have spoken with anyone other than her husband was Dec. 23 about 8:30 p.m. when she had a phone conversation with her mother, police said.

I wonder if someone desperate for a child kidnaped her, will wait till she delivers, and will then kill her.

Look, this is nonsense. All these well meaning decent people tying ribbons to trees, putting posters up etc. They're wasting their time.
Get this moron of a husband in a back room, start beating him with a rubber hose until he breaks and tells you where he dumped her body. It's quicker, it's more direct, and her family will appreciate not having to let this charade drag out for years without getting the body of their daughter back.
Surely there must be some valiant Freepers in this area that can drive over and administer the pummelingto this cretin! How about it!

I suppose anything is possible. Motive, opportunity, and means. The baby is a possible motive, then we have to look at who had the opportunity, and the means!

Well, there are certainly other motives. Just thought I might raise the issue for consideration by minds better than my own.

I'm betting the cops already figured out he murdered her and are continuing to let his story change and unravel.
I saw Mark Furman on with Greta Van last night, and he sounded like solving this one this was like cracking a soft peanut.
A day or two more, and this guys cuffed.

Did I imagine this, or did I read that the hubby gave an interview?

The impression I got was the dogs had followed her to a spot that indicated she got/was forced into a car. If true, wouldn't that indicate she had walked to a spot.
Otherwise, it would be possible if the husband is involved, he could have done it the night before.
Recently I haven't heard any mention of the neighborhood robbery that took place about the same time.

It is really strange, but in a hopeful way liftng, what we do to show support for the missing person.
I agree that the signs all point to the husband. I only hope someone saw something that will bring quick resolution!

I absolutely agree it was the husband. And if it proves true-can ou even imagine. Murdering your wife, who is 8 onths pregnant on Christmas eve? I am not sure of it but it really seems we are breeding more and more sociopaths everyday!

I didn't hear that, but I hope he did.
A few years back, on L.I. NY, a wife disappeared right before X-Mas. Concerned hubby did teary interviews and actually led the search parties for a few days.
They nailed him for the murder in about 5 days.
Furman was big on why the hubby kept the reciept from the marina. Said if the guy's not the sort who saves every reciept it'll be his undoing....as in how did know he'd need an something to establish his presence somewhere?
