I tuned in. Hubby was unhappy about. I coldn't resist watching 20 women compete for a man they thought was rich! They were just squealing with delight about how this was a dream come true, just like a fairy tale, and they felt like princesses.

(I'm sure the chosen one won't care about the deception. She'll love Evan for himself.)

Let's see -- combine "The Batchelor" with "Who Wants To Marry A Millionaire" with "Let's Make A Deal" and you might be close... Leave it to Fox.Oh, and let's not forget their upcoming "American Candidate." (for the uninitiated, contestants compete; a winner is chosen 7/4/04 and that winner's Presidential candidacy is bankrolled by Fox, and no, I'm not making this up!)
"Hold muh beer 'n watch this!" PING....
If you want on or off this list, please let me know!

My bet is Zorba, she was talking to him right away and making humourous small talk.
And she will see him after the show when he doesn't have any money.
Kind of an ingenious premise..

I don't know what all the fuss is about - there is a consolation prize:
The Prize

I watched. I think it would have been more interesting if the guy was just an ordinary looking guy instead of a 6'5" hunk.
Also, I think that it would have been interesting if at the ball, they would have revealed that Evan was observing them as they picked their dresses.

I doubt it. But before people start bagging on gold-diggers, I wonder how Evan would have felt if all the women who showed up for the competition were heiffers...

And just wait for 'Married by America' during sweeps in March/April/May!
The first U.S. sight unseen arranged marriage by TV show..

They needed Evan to be good looking for the women to buy the premise.
The guy could hardly explain himself last night when the gals were asking him questions!

They were just squealing with delight about how this was a dream come true, just like a fairy tale, and they felt like princesses. LOL!! More like sleazy gold-diggers.
I'm curious if the women really didn't know he wasn't a millionaire, and whether the guy is a construction worker too. He doesn't look like one, and seems to be more intelligent than the average $19K a year construction worker tends to be. I bet the entire concept is a scam.
I'd watch a show where they take 20 hot women down to backwoods Mississippi and let a 40-year old, toothless red kneck court them - and the prize was millions. That'd be great!!

Once word gets around, I have a feeling that more guys will be watching the show than women. The ratings would be higher if they renamed the show "gold diggin b*tches" though.

"The first U.S. sight unseen arranged marriage by TV show..."
Actually, I think an interesting concept for one of these shows would be a Cyrano de Bergerac type situation...a good-looking stand in for a plain-looking extraordinary person. The dumb stand-in would have the life-story of the plain looking person, etc...the prospective suitor would meet both at the end and pick, etc.

Wowsers.

I'm guilty of watching parts of it myself. I had phone interuptions and couldn't see it complete. I missed the part where he was introduced to each one and he analyzed them personally. I would have liked to see the first impression he had of each one.

I loved the previews for next week that the butler showed where the 'ladies' are cleaning out the horse stalls to get a picture of what life will be like at the French 'Chateau.'
I thought more would complain with Evan there, but they were being good sports..

And I don't think the couple on 'American Wedding' has to get married, just engaged with the ring like the Batchelor.
