President Bush headed to Ft. Hood, Texas today to rally and to thank the many troops who serve from their home base. Bush used the opportunity to tout the military spending bill, as well as to once again assure all that we will win the war on terror. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I just checked the C-SPAN schedule. They're going to replay the speech at 5:54 AM (EST) if anyone wants to stay up that late to watch it ...... or set the VCR. It's definitely worth seeing!
Here is the text .... but it was the depth of emotion he displayed that gave such life to the words.
President Rallies Troops at Fort Hood
I barely contained my own emotions while he was speaking ..... but when the troops broke into the Army song afterwards I bawled. We are so very fortunate to have this man as our President at such a time (well, at any time but especially now); God truly blessed America when he raised up such a leader for us! Thank you, Lord!

me2, rin ... thought they'd pull it out. I was hoping to see my son. He flew there for the game with a couple of buds .. they're HurriCane alumnae and, by the looks of it .. they were engulfed in a sea of red .. lol. Was certainly a nailbiter. HaPPY New Year and HAPPY BATHROOM .. great job!!

This is one of the most awesome and touching photos that I have ever seen of our President. I found it to be an utterly profound statement of his character and his respect for our military. I can't even find the words to express how deeply it affected me. God bless him and keep him safe!

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one Princess.
One call, bad or good......and it was holding, not interference and a good call....did not make that game, one way or the other.
Ohio's front four had Dorsey off balance the whole game. OSU's passing game was non-extant.
It was a very even game (except for turnovers), with a few bad calls going both ways, and in the end, Ohio State won because they stopped Miami on a beautiful goal line stand, when Miami had to score to win.
If ever there was a legitimate end to a great game, it was this one. And when you consider that all the 'experts' said OSU didn't even deserve to be IN the game, the victory was even sweeter. Miami has better players, but OSU had the better team, and more grit.
The last time OSU had a National Championship was when I was 18 years old, and Neil Armstrong (from OHIO) had not yet walked on the moon.
This was a sweet, sweet victory, and absolutely, completely deserved.
I'll forgive you for your lack of judgement on this one, though, since I agree with you about almost everything else! :o)

I dont think I have ever had more respect for a human being in my life, as I have for George W. BushMike......I think you spoke for all of us when you said this. Thanks for your beautiful words!
I'm still awake because of adrenalin induced insomnia :o) so I'm finally getting to the point of this thread.
This speech today (yesterday, I guess) was indeed one of the most moving speeches I have seen this great President give. Watching him get so choked up because of his love for the men and women in the military, and seeing his resolve to fight the evil that we have been forced to fight was overwhelming.
kayak, I agree with you. That picture is awesome. What a President we have! What a servant he is......of the American people, and of the Lord he loves.
rintense, all football kidding aside, THANK you for giving us these pictures tonight. They are incredible, and you brought them to us in spite of your computer woes. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Now I MUST go to bed! What a GREAT day!!

And an angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm.I still remember this wonderful line from our President's inaugural speech. It made such an impression on me and I thought it was so meaningful and encapsulated his faith and patriotism. Little did I know how prescient that would be.
Your description is wonderful, and may I join you in asking God to continue to bless George W. Bush.
