President Bush headed to Ft. Hood, Texas today to rally and to thank the many troops who serve from their home base. Bush used the opportunity to tout the military spending bill, as well as to once again assure all that we will win the war on terror. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

You find so many great items to post, I want you to know how much I really appreciate them. Tonight's story from the China Post is a gem. I guess no American journalist ever knew about the President's work schedule, or one of them surely! would have reported it before this.

Even at the ranch, Bush does not sleep in. He works from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. before going outside to "cut cedar or fool around, you know, repair something." After lunch, he will work until about 4 p.m. and then go fishing.

"Ashcroft's Dept. of Justice Complicit in Coverup of Global Crossing Crimes...Will Dubyuh's Unwillingness to Prosecute DemonRAT Criminals Short-Circuit His Presidency?!"

"On Christmas Eve, the Justice Department of the United States of America meekly announced it would not seek the indictment of Gary Winnick, one of the biggest corporate villains in American history. Attorney General John Ashcroft chose Christmas Eve to make the announcement because he didn't want you to know about it. Mr. Ashcroft is excellent at not seeking indictments. His department was unable to indict Senator Robert Torricelli, despite solid evidence he was on the take. It was unable to pin down any wrongdoing in the vote-buying investigation involving the town of New Square, N.Y., where, in the 2000 senatorial election, 1,400 citizens voted for Hillary Clinton, and 12 did not. A month after that vote, four incarcerated town leaders had their prison sentences reduced by President Bill Clinton. It was all just a strange coincidence, of course, and we should all have a good laugh over it, right, Mr. Attorney General? But let's give Ashcroft a rest for a moment and get back to the wicked Winnick. As chairman of the Global Crossing company, Winnick moved the corporate headquarters to Bermuda so he could dodge U.S. taxes, was paid millions in salary and made more than $730 million from various deals involving the company's stock. The problem was that at the same time Winnick was winning, the company was losing. Finally, it sunk. A year ago, Global Crossing declared bankruptcy with as much as $42 billion in debt. Gary Winnick was chairman throughout the entire process and lived large whether times were good or bad. If you are ever in Los Angeles, take a ride to the Bel Air neighborhood. Turn off Sunset Boulevard onto Stone Canyon Drive. Then ask anyone where Gary lives. You should have no problem checking out his $60 million home, which has been embellished by $30 million in renovations. It's quite a place, especially for a guy who drove a company into bankruptcy. There is a chance that the leader of the Democratic National Committee, Terry McAuliffe, has had a cocktail or two at the Winnick abode. That's because McAuliffe and Winnick were golfing buddies when President Clinton was in office. And not only that, McAuliffe was an early investor in Global Crossing. He put up $100,000 and a few years later cashed out for $18 million. When asked about the windfall, McAuliffe said he was simply a good capitalist, and if you don't like capitalism, you should move to China or Cuba. Any suspicion of insider info in his Global Crossing adventure is nonsense, says McAuliffe. How could any responsible person think that?"

Y'all know I like Dubyuh and believe Ashcroft is a decent man...but can any of the BushBOTS explain this?!

Belated CONGRATS oWf!

But, to clarify, I saw nearly every
play of the Fiesta Bowl. I along with
you and the entire state of Ohio--and
countless others--cheered the Buckeyes
to victory.

And, I saw your victory post WHEN you
made it! Then, however, I went to bed!

My feeling was, if not TEXAS, then why
not REPUBLICAN OHIO over Miami-Dade???

HOOK 'EM BUCKEYES!!!

(Whew, what a game...)

What a fine tribute to our President. You stated how I feel so elegantly and your words brought tears to my eyes.
Yes, this man has a truly huge burden on his shoulders and our prayers are desperately needed in this time of critical decisions.

Ok, to be clear, it was pass interference. If you watched the reply, the ref first called it incomplete, then whipped out his flag, indicated holding, and THEN indicated pass interference. The official penalty was interference.

ESPN article

I watched all the replays and the official's take on it was just plain wrong. He admitted he had to 'replay the play' in his mind before throwing the flag. That is just crap. You either see it or you don't. And I'll trust the tv replay more than the officials. If he wasn't sure, he should not have thrown the flag- especially on such a critical play.

As for the quarterbacks, neither played well, and Dorsey was the bigger disappointment because he is that much better than OSU's guy. I do remember saying to friends that Miami was just off all night. And as such, they did not deserve to win (in hindsight). But that call from the official was just bad.

Good morning your highness, (said in a loving spirit) (I swear- LOL)

To digress... I've been trying to watch the C-SPAN archive (online) of -W-'s Ft.Hood speech to no avail. Mike posted here reporting that he saw it live on C-SPAN (TV). Do you know of an alternative source for current online streaming video relating specifically to -W- ?

OK, even if I give you a 'bad call' it's not what cost Miami the game. There were plenty of bad calls that went the other way, as there always are in ANY football game.

The REASON Miami was 'off all night' was because of OSU's defense, which had them confused. Dorsey did not look good from the beginning.

Maybe they just came into the game cocky because everyone kept saying how much better they were, and how unworthy OSU was to even be in the game. They're just kids, and all the stroking had to affect them at least a little bit.

As I said, Miami had better players, but OSU is a better TEAM.

That win was as legit as any in history, and it will go down as one of the best football games ever.......won by the team that outlasted the other. Ohio State.

Likewise, I had little success in viewing the Ft. Hood speech by -W- at C-SPAN.

rintense gave this source at C-SPAN for the speech:

I just feel for McGhee. That was a horrible hit- it hurt just to watch the replays. A torn ACL... he'll be lucky if he every plays football again like he did at Miami. One thing's for sure, he won't go pro- which means the Lions will more than likely draft MSU's Charles Rogers!!!!! WOOOO HOOOO!!!!

I only watched that hit once. It turned my stomach.

I hope his career is not over, though it doesn't look good.

Before you buy it from c-span, wait a couple of days to see if the White House puts the video of the speech on the website. They usually do.
