Former Blaine City Council member David White has started a petition to recall U.S. Sen. Patty Murray from office for comments she made recently about terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

White said he will begin circulating the petition soon and will ask the Whatcom County Republican Party to solicit signatures, then present the petition to federal officials.

Unfortunately, it's less than clear whether US Senators can be subject to recall elections. Even if you got the signatures, held the election, and "kicked her out," it would almost certainly end up at the Supreme Court a good two years down the line.

Better to just embarrass her into quitting.

AMEN. And as a Republican who called for Lott's resignation, I would really hope to see at least ONE Democrat, SOMEWHERE, with the ethical fortitude to do the right thing and encourage Murray to resign.

But I'm not holding my breath; it seems half of the Dems agree with her idiotic "sympathy." Who says we don't have population in our midst just as stupid and lost as the ignorant illiterate youth that follow the Taliban?

It is important to focus continued media attention on Murray's statement as it highlights a weakness in America's strength that we must face: we have some idiotic citizens, even an idiotic "Senator," who fall hook line and singer for the dumbest anti-US propaganda the world has ever seen.

Mr. bin Laden, Murray's inspiration, did not distinguish political party of those in the WTC.

If BL is her inspiration, it would be interesting to hear her heart sent comments as to her attitude towards her home country, considering the vast differences between the thinking of BL and his gang and the thinking of most of the population of the US.
