December 29, 2002 -- JERUSALEM - Sen. Joseph Lieberman said yesterday he would probably seek the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination, following former Vice President Al Gore's decision not to join the race.

Lieberman, in the Middle East after visiting U.S. troops in the Gulf, said he would be making a final decision by mid-January.

Orthodox Jews: Beware of the Lieberman Trap

Press Release

For Release: 15 Av 5760 / 16 Aug. 2000, 9:00 A.M.

JFM to Orthodox Jews:

Beware of the
Lieberman "Trap"

Senator Joseph Lieberman's voting record on Infanticide, Pornography,
and "Gay-Rights" is a disgrace to the Orthodox Jewish community
________________

Rabbi Isaac Levy, chairman of Jews for Morality, today warned Orthodox Jewish organizations to distance themselves from Vice-Presidential candidate Joseph Lieberman.

"Joe Lieberman claims that he is a 'Modern-Orthodox' Jew. In practice this means that he performs many of the rituals of the Orthodox Jew but votes like a Reform Jew - 'With his mouth and lips he honors Me, but his heart is estranged from Me.' (Isaiah 29:13)

1. ABORTION AND INFANTICIDE.
"Joseph Lieberman supports abortion at any stage of pregnancy, even while the baby is already being born ('partial-birth abortion'). He voted to oppose the bill (H.R.1833) that would have outlawed this barbarous procedure. All Orthodox Jewish authorities on halacha (Jewish law) agree that 'partial-birth abortion' is murder.

2. PORNOGRAPHY.
"Lieberman voted to oppose the Communication Decency Act (S.652) that sought to protect children from Internet pornography, while supporting the National Endowment for the Humanities, a group that funds sacrilegious pornography.

3. HOMOSEXUAL LIFESTYLE.
"Lieberman voted for the ENDA Act (S.2056), a bill which adds homosexuals to the group of minorities who are entitled to special affirmative-action privileges. He also voted for the Hate Crimes Act, a bill that would give to homosexuals special protections that are not granted to citizens in general.

"If the Orthodox Jewish community continues to enthusiastically support 'my son the Vice-President', it will be trapped into downplaying its most treasured traditions -the sanctity of human life and the importance of family decency -'Their G-d hates immorality.'

"Lieberman has publicly stated, 'Who I am determines how I vote on particular issues.' -If this is true, then what does that tell us about the real Joe Lieberman?"

Did he check with Hillary? Waiting for the Lieberman negatives to start being released by her highness through the press! Good bet she will do the work for us.

That said we need to get every bit of information on their candidates that we can use in 2004! Going to be a nasty race if what I am seeing already holds true.

Thanks for posting this along with the press release.

If Lieberman's run is anything like Gore's rip, he might as well save his money. Joe's only purpose in running is to get the Jewish vote for the nominee.

The OT is clear that under Jewish law (which Lieberman, but not I, adhere to) killing the unborn isn't the same as killing a live person. Jews are pro-choice, while Christians are pro-life, because they weigh quality of life-- life rather than potential, born life. Causing an abortion without the father's consent is, under Old Testament law, a crime against the property rights of the father. Killing the man's wife is not treated so lightly.

But of course, with the help of the odious Lenzner, Slimey Blewthemall, Snakehead and Mr. Tourette's Syndrome himself, Alan Colmes. Nobody, not even Hitlery, can stand the thought of Holy Joey whining away for four long years. Oh, the horror of it!

Jews Choosing Life

The morning session consisted of panel presentations by three Orthodox Jews and a maverick Reform rabbi. Marshall Breger, a law professor and political writer, lamented the fact that Jews support "abortion rights" more than any religious or ethnic group: they are consistently 15 to 20 percent above the norm, he said, even when controlling for various factors such as religious belief or unbelief, political ideology, social class, etc. He attributed this support, in part, to fears that governmental restrictions on abortion would abridge personal autonomy and impose Christian religious standards on Jewish life. He said that "gray areas" in Jewish law—its combination of silence and ambiguity regarding the fetus’ status, its handful of exceptional situations allowing abortion—have confused Jews about the permissibility of abortion in general.

David Novak, a theologian and rabbi who holds a chair in Jewish Studies at the University of Toronto, further developed the theme that Jewish thinking on abortion tends to be less theoretical than practical. And the guide to practice is sometimes ambiguous: The great medieval teacher Rashi, for instance, implies in one case that the fetus has no rights, but elsewhere seems to imply the opposite.

.... What, then, Rabbi Librach asked, if the sages had known that, from the moment of conception, twenty–three chromosome pairs form the signature of each human being, or that a fetus exhibits brain waves at just ten weeks, or that fetuses are sensitive to music and human voices? Though the Reform movement has uncritically supported "abortion rights" in its political activities, Librach found a source of possible hope in its rabbinic wing, which has occasionally displayed a measure of moral seriousness on the issue. In 1996, for instance, it refused to give legal approval for an abortion to a couple that claimed giving birth to a handicapped child "would impose an undue hardship on their other children."

Pro Life issues, adoption and Jews against Partial Birth ...

Jews For Life is an organization created to reflect the traditional Jewish pro-life perspective on abortion. Our fundamental purpose is to enlighten and inform our readers about the tragic consequences that have befallen women and our culture since Roe v. Wade was enacted into law. Jews For Life maintains that life, both born and unborn, is sacred and worthy of protection. Further, we submit that the current so-called 'pro-choice' position of mainstream liberal Jewish organizations is antithetical to the traditional teachings of our faith.

What's his slogan gonna be?

"Lieberman. Because, now more than ever, America needs a capitulating, spineless jerk who sounds like Elmer Fudd!"

"Of course, it is an awesome opportunity and responsibility, and I have got to feel that I have something different as a Democrat to offer my country," he said. <p. You have nothing to offer but fearmongering and higher taxes. You are just a another Rat who would put America into a decline.

"Now that he [Gore] has decided he won't run, I would say I probably will run."

As decisive as ever.

So true! How would you like to have her for your Vice? Not enough bodyguards to protect you IMHO! Bet she would end up Pres in no time at all! Might get two years so she could run a full two terms!

As you can tell, I don't put anything past them!

The Hillary Project - AmeriPAC

"I’m not sitting here because I’m some little woman standing by my man, like Tammy Wynette.

A brief look at the history of Hillary Clinton will confirm what columnist Camille Paglia said in a recent article in Women’s Quarterly: "That woman should not be anywhere near our government . . . That woman is an authoritarian who should be kept out of government. She’s a tyrant who thinks she knows what’s best for the people. She’s Orwellian in her attitude toward the rest of humanity." One should not, and need not, judge her by her husband’s actions— she is a corrupt radical in her own right.

Ex-First Lady Hillary Keeps No Eye-Contact Rule "No one is to make eye contact with the first lady," the source said station employees were told.

In his book "Unlimited Access," former White House FBI agent Gary Aldrich reported that a similar edict had been issued to White House staff.

When one admiring aide who didn't get the word rushed up to meet her Hillaryness, he was immediately rebuffed with an ice cold stare that let him know he was way out of line.

Who knows, maybe Hilly will decide to run with Loserman as her VP mate. That way, when she loses, she can blame it on the "F***ing Jew Ba***rd"

The rabbis are given council from God who would know all the things that we know today and more. I don't think they are given such council, but Jews do-- and so they believe that abortions aren't as big of a deal as Christians do.

This guy acknowledges everything I said-- which is that Joe's views on abortion are very much in line with his orthodox religious beliefs. He's about persuading the rabbis to use science to change their views.
