Looks like we have gone from "win one for the gipper" to get in fight, get big lipper?

I think that photo was taken right after the USC game.

Looks like the gendarmes gave Chadwick the old wooden shampoo. One thing I've learned, don't try to pick a fight with a precinct full of cops when you're drunk and handcuffed. Looks like Mr. Debolt has learned that now... the hard way.

Me thinks the boys in the Jacksonville Sheriff's Department have some 'spaining to do.' This sort of stuff happens all the time.
Notre Dame is not very popular with local boys in local bars in the South, especially in towns where they root for Miami, Florida and Florida State.
Years ago a good friend who is an attorney represented a former defensive linebacker for the a major professional footbal team. One of the patrons of a local drinking estabishment became upset with the player and assaulted him on the premises. Long story short, the player was ambushed outside by the cops and beaten with night clubs.
They booked him for all sorts of terrible conduct including assaulting three police officers. The cops and the D.A. expected the player would plead guilty, but instead there was a trial. At trial, a small woman testfied with several onlookers that the player was jumped and beaten. When she protested at this conduct by the police, one of the cops pulled a gun, pointed it at directly her and ordered her to leave. Four other witnesses testified for the former player. The attorney for the player introduced his belt into evidence, which was scarred with deep grooves from when they dragged him out of the police car by his hair; then dragged him all the way across the parking lot and into the jail.
The player was acquited. His lawyer sent a demand letter to the local authorities for a bundle of moola. Result: A huge and very secret out-of-court settlement.

It's quite obvious he tripped and fell.

If this guy was handcuffed while getting his beating I'd say the fine city of Jacksonville will be paying a small fortune to this idiot's retirement fund....
To: jern
I'd say his face got restrained real good!

One thing I've learned, don't try to pick a fight with a precinct full of cops when you're drunk and handcuffed.Ouch!....I learned that lesson too.
And I didn't even go to Notre Dame.

Looks like one jock that let his mouth overload his muscle. This "jock" is an honor student who's about to graduate with an engineering degree AND a MBA. There's nothing funny about this picture.
