The holiday season is viewed as the happiest time of the year. It conjures visions of families gathering by a warm fireplace, sharing their love, opening presents, and feasting on turkeys and pigs.

But for the millions of factory-farmed turkeys and pigs hauled to slaughter for thousands of miles in freezing weather, the holiday season signifies misery, despair and death. Their agonizing death journey follows a lifetime of caging, crowding, deprivation, drugging, mutilation and mandhandling.

This past Thanksgiving a form letter urging people to eat Tofurky, non-meat dinners, and how cruel turkeys are treated was distributed to newspapers as a "Letter to the Editor" written by the submitting person. I suspect that the above letter is this years form letter for Christmas. Take a look in your local paper and others to see if this letter appears.

Then write the person who "submitted" the letter and congratulate them on their inability to think and write for themselves.
