SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- The California Supreme Court is considering prohibiting state judges from being members of the Boy Scouts because of its refusal to admit gays, the chief justice said.
The move, announced Thursday, comes months after San Francisco's judges and others cut ties with the organization for the same reason. The San Francisco Bar association and other groups recently asked the high court to revamp the rules.

Whoa! What are they going to do next, prohibit Baptists from becoming judges because openly practicing gays can't join evangelical churches? This is WAY over the line and downright frightening, imo.

If the Catholic Church had followed the Boy Scouts of America in excluding gay men, then the Catholic Church wouldn't find itself in the mess it's in today. If I were a judge in this instance I would fight this tooth and nail. The Boy Scouts are one of the few remaining decent organizations we have for boys.

"..a supposedly Catholic oriented state.."
Where on earth did you get that idea? Kalifornia worships man. Period. There is a smattering of religion here and there, but paganism and satanism are just as viable as any of the Christian religions.
You have no idea how bad it is.

"..it's not easy to tell the decent people from California..."
There's the problem, my man. Even CA conservatives are liberal by national standards. They have been living near the cesspool for so long that, even they (conservatives) smell like liberals.
I'm on a post on another thread where Californians who pretend to be conservative think it's a great state simply because they get to surf.
One child even called it (CA) the "crown jewel of America."
The cause is absolutely lost. God is giving CA over to our enemies because He hates what's been done, there.

Looks like you missed some important points of history. Mexico is "the Indians" - or at least a considerable part of them.
Besides, turning Gray Davis over to a guy running a casino in San Diego county really isn't going to get us the sort of effect we really need. Now you give Gray Davis to the federales, and have them lock him up, along with all those spare judges they have out there, and it will be a real show!

The fascist Gaystapo is at work again. Soon your government servants will not be allowed an all male poker night or to attend a Catholic Church. We let them steal our freedom at our own and our children's peril.

One of the biggest misconceptions promoted by the media is that the rise of Latinos in CA, doomed the GOP. That is not entirely true. While it is true that the Latino vote has increased in recent years, they only made up 14% of the CA Presidential electorate in 2000. This is despite the fact that Hispanics make up 33% of CA's population. Hispanic voter turnout is much lower compared to other ethnic groups. Latinos as a group see themselves as citizens of Mexico rather than American citizens. The CA GOP dismal fortunates are attributed to both conservatives migrating out of the state, as well as White suburban RINOS switching to the Democratic Party.

The state may find itself in 20 years...with a tremendous Latino population who basically run politics in the state. The irony here is of course that a California controlled by Mexicans would be a lot more conservative than the government California has now.

While it is true that the Latino vote has increased in recent years, they only made up 14% of the CA Presidential electorate in 2000. The legal residents voting in CA elections are 14%, perhaps. But how many more illegal alien felony voters, as well.
If they're willing to commit a felony by illegally entering the country, what reason is there to believe they're not also committing vote fraud as well?

California is a cesspool. A literal socialist hellhole spewing toxic bile and spreading its tentacles across the continental divide. The sooner it drops into the ocean and takes the no-good dimwit governor with it, the better.
