I'm making a documentary on Reiner's life, "This Is Meathead".

Say what you want about Rob Reiner, but Spinal Tap was one of the funniest movies ever made.

I hate Reiner.
But Spinal Tap is a classic and deserves to be recognized.

... sci-fi groundbreaker "Alien," Actually, Predator would better fit the 'groundbreaker' characterization. That movie has the astonishing effect, whereas Alien is a tribute to S. Weaver rather than a groundbreaking theme.

I am and always will be a metal head ... and Tap is just pure genius ...!

This guy CAN make a good movie, just like a lot of other Hollyweird wackjobs.
But I wonder why anyone cares what comes out of his fat piehole...

I hate
Spinal Tap, but Reiner is a genius!
Somebody has to provide the balance!

Spinal Tap is great, not just hilarious but it captures a moment in history the end of the 70s era of uber rock. I hope they put in the DVD which has a second movie (basically they put together cutting room stuff that was related to a few other plots plus some filler to put it together, about 90 minutes not as brilliant as the main movie but damn good, you get a lot of extra footage doing that improv stuff as you basically keep making a scene up through one (or more) 20 minute can of film). This really isn't a Rob Reiner move, Guest and McKean are much more important to the creation of the movie.

Spinal Tap was hilarious ...

I have to agree on both counts; my favorite scene was where Paul Shafer messed up a booking and bends over telling the band members to kick him because "It won't just make you feel better. It will make me feel better!"
Cracks me up!

The VHS tape needs more Doubly.

The first time I saw "Tap" (c. 1983) i was a budding young rocker ... honestly, I wasn't sure at first whether or not the band was real or not ... that's the sign of a good parody.

The first time I watched Spinal Tap, I had to keep rewinding and trying to watch the scene where the dwarves almost trample on Stonehenge.
I was crying so hard, it took five rewinds to see and hear the whole scene and the backstage conversation afterwards.
