December 17, 2002 -- Religious tensions erupted yesterday after authorities confirmed that an Arab girl beat up a Jewish girl at a Brooklyn middle school.

The Arab teen was arrested and suspended for the Dec. 12 attack on the 13-year-old Jewish girl, an honors student, at IS 259 in Dycker Heights, sources said.

Do what we did. Pull your kid out of school. We home schooled for three years and now our daughter is in a fantastic private Catholic school. She will be graduating at 16.

The really funny thing is, that the public school she used to go to is having a real problem which I suspect will be surfacing all around the nation soon. With all the testing of students to standards as of late, the districts are all patting themselves on the back for doing such a good job. Now when the students take the SAT, and the student is getting straight A's, A score of 600 sure is an eye opener folks!

As for school yard skirmishes and name calling.....It's part of growing up. Don't like it, but it builds a strong sense of right and wrong. Fighting is part of growing up. After a few of them, you learn how stupid they are, how to avoid them, and how to defend yourself when you have to.
