THE DNC ARE ALREADY CASHING IN ON THIS.
Republicans' Choice of Lott as Leader Reflects History of Racially Divisive Politics
Incoming Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott's recent statement that the country would have benefited from a presidential victory in 1948 by then-segregationist Strom Thurmond is part of a pattern of racially divisive politics.
Lott made virtually the same statement 22 years ago, has supported racist organizations, and suffers from other allegations of racial insensitivities throughout his past.
Recent allegations of voter intimidation by Republicans along with the choice of Lott as their incoming Majority Leader make it clear that Republicans continue to embrace the racially divisive politics of the past.

Lott: The first truly Black GOP senator.

Lott's Statements vs. Jesse Jackson's: What's the Difference?the difference is that Lot's an idiot and Jackson isn't.

This is a case of Trent Lott providing Clintonistas politics of personal destruction with a can't miss target. The long term gain will be ours, as we clean our own house.
Look where Clintonism has gotten the Democrats in the past eight years: from the Presidency and control of both chambers of the Legislative Branch to 0 fer 3.

Say what?
Jesse Jackson is a dumba$$ed hypocritical, liberal, leftist, commie, Clinton worshipping, scumbag, lying, idiot.
To: TaRaRaBoomDeAyGoreLostToday!
Jackson is not an idiot. He is an astute political player. If Lott were 1/2 as smart as Lott, we wouldn't be discussing this.
To: TaRaRaBoomDeAyGoreLostToday!
He could tell the BET viewers that "I would just like to tell you people that I like Black entertainment too. My favorite TV show of all time is Amos and Andy and it is a crying shame that they don't show the reruns more often. Do you remember that scene where the Kingfish is talking to Lightnin'....."

If Lott were 1/2 as smart as Lott ???!!!?????Typing and talking on phone at same time
If Lott were 1/2 as smart as Jackson we would not be having the problems we are having.

The man is a self claimed man of the cloth that claims non profit and spends the money living lavishly on a woman he got pregnant. People who are smart con artists lie cheat and steal without anyone knowing it. Every one knows Jesse Jackson is a con artist. If you think this is 'smart' you are a strange individual.

The interview emphasized on Lotts voting record and civil rights groups gave him an F. He voted against having Martin Luther King day as a Holiday and against affirmative action.
It was not good for Lott.He is toast. No doubt.
I have had personal experience where I do not believe in affirmitive action, does that make me a racist?

>Council of Conservative Citizens, a group known for it's extreme racial views.
Gephardt was tied to them<
I've heard this, too. Gephardt orginally ran as an anti-busing, anti-abortion canidate from South St. Louis.
This may not be a popular statement but the CofCC gets a lot of information on people, events, and issues you don't hear in the left-wing media.
