Yes, because you are allowing them to decide who can be ML for the party that they despise. Who will be next and when and where does it stop? If not now, when? They keep using and it and we keep falling for it.

Wrong. They have been saying plenty to the "news" stations and print media. Lloyd Groves of The Washington Post told Tony Snow James Carville has been calling all the media trying to keep it alive. Who do you think he speaks for if not Hillary Clinton? He has been her mouthpiece since Bill Clinton started running for President and to this day.

Trent Lott has offended not only minorities but likely alienated the squishy moderate swing voters that are critical to electoral success. Furthermore, he has offended many conservatives, myself included. His repeated comments nodding and winking at dixiecrat racism are not only incredibly stupid but disgusting. Well said. Lott has to go.

"You sure put a bunch of words in Lott's mouth that he did not ever say or even insinuate."
Post Lott's comments, word for word and in their totality, and please tell me in your words what he was trying to insinuate. Add to that any whiffs of segregationist-leaning or outright segregationist/racist relationships and tell me what you see. Because perception is reality for the GOP and conservatives in America today and it shapes the way we must navigate in the legislative arena and the electoral process.
Lott has more character in his behavior and his work in the Senate than any ten of them combined.
And I know a man that is a prolific psychologist and yet is a chronic drug addict. I know of priests that do God's work and lust for little boys. And on and on.
Apparently you have none or you would recognize it immediately.
I don't claim perfect character, do my best, constantly improve...and I'm also not the Leader of the GOP in the Senate.

Most conservatives long for a colorblind society. I hope you two do as well. So throwing the race card every time a conservative opens his/her mouth and then conservatives meekly accepting it will lead to a "color-blind society"? You make no logical sense. How can we ever address the failures of the democrats approach to race when we dare not ask the questions that need answering? Blacks do not fear republicans because republicans are in a box with nowhere to go but go along or be driven from public life.

No, It is you who do not "get it".
Lott said nothing offending, nor meant no offense.
This crap was started by the Congressional Black Marxist's and grew legs when some conservative talking heads went off on him because they still hold a grudge since impeachment.
The end result has been a political disaster for Lott, but he did not make it.
It is weak kneed conservatives like yourselves who view your righteous indignation as some sort of frigging religion and refuse to see the consequences of your actions in the long term.
With supporters like you, the republican party needs no other enemy.

You sure put a bunch of words in Lott's mouth that he did not ever say or even insinuate. It is called character assassination by ventriloquism.

The Washington Post told Tony Snow James Carville has been calling all the media trying to keep it alive. So what. Carville isn't holding a gun to their head making them focus on Trent Lott. The media's been willingly involved in this.

Wow. Quite a rant. The excerpt "Lott said nothing offending," is the crux of the issue. You and obviously Trent Lott aren't offended.
Well you are in the minority on this issue and you don't seem to be taking it very well. How does feel being a minority?

In this case, their view matters not to me. In this case, I view for myself and while I don't have the power to decide, if I did, he would have fixed this by now. And you know how I would fix it.

My point, Jorge. You don't think James Carville has any influence on the "news" media? Think...Paul Begala, George Stephanopoleous, JAMES CARVILLE all of the Clinton years of corruption.

This debacle can be laid at the hands of eastern views that they still hold from the civil war.
They view all southerners as racist, regardless of anything to the contrary. All southerners know this and none of us like it. In fact, I resent the hell out of it!
This is what this is all about! And I want to stick it right where it came from. The place where the sun never shines!
To: ApesForEvolution
By throwing out a man because the other side labeled him as a racist. They can't win the election so they play another hand of race baiting.

Oh..ok..all of this has been about nothing. Lott has made at least FIVE public apologies for what he said...but he said "nothing offending".
Right.

How does feel being a minority? The day I find myself changing my views of right and wrong based on whether it is a minority view, will be the day I cap myself for being a kowtowing idiot and worth less than a turd.

It is going to stop now because I am sick and tired of this crap. This is one too many times they have tried this and it's going to bite them in the *ss this time. They either stand up to the elites and tell them to shove it or pay the price.

"By throwing out a man because the other side labeled him as a racist"
Please read what I'm typing. The opposition's opinion today is not motivating me. I was motivated the day Lott made it an issue by his own stupidity and the fact that he does not have the ability to make it go away. And the deeper one looks, the more I wonder if it will. In fact, not only do I not see it going away, I see it as a tool in the hands of the enemy, created by a fool that I don't trust to begin with. Double whammy.

By throwing out a man because the other side labeled him as a racist. They can't win the election so they play another hand of race baiting. And Lott isn't responsible for anything he's said. It's all a left wing conspiracy.
