No, It is you who do not "get it".Lott said nothing offending, nor meant no offense.
Oh..ok..all of this has been about nothing. Lott has made at least FIVE public apologies for what he said...but he said "nothing offending".
Right.

Because President Bush left him hanging like he has done all southern conservatives. He has time to take his shoes off and join the "religion of peace" but he doesn't care about the people who worked their butts off getting him elected.

Oh Great! Now you blame Lott for apologising five times for something he has stated repeatedly that he did not mean to infer.
So now that you have forced him to publically decry this, he is guilty by apology.
How cute!

"I want to say this...we voted for him...and we're proud of it...and if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all of these problems over these years..."
And then the rest of his ties to segregation and racists. It's not pretty, no matter how much lipstick you put on that pig.

He apologised because race hustlers and power hungry Dems ( now on the losing end of the stick ) stirred the pot and wouldn't let it go. When the Dems held both Houses and Trent made the same remark, over 20 years ago, where was this outcry ?
