He apologised because race hustlers and power hungry Dems ( now on the losing end of the stick ) stirred the pot and wouldn't let it go. When the Dems held both Houses and Trent made the same remark, over 20 years ago, where was this outcry ?

He was a two bit Congressman then, not Senate Majority Leader. Big difference.
As far as I'm concerned he can stay in the senate, that's up to him. But he has disqualified himself and does not deserve to be majority leader.
