was right. Likely if the spin doctors had not grabbed that tale and run with it the--USA would be a much different place today.

I think the general's right; I've always been suspicious of "emergency" legislation of any kind, and never more so than that establishing the Dept. of Fatherland Homeland Security.

It is not the kind of statement you see every day. I'm not sure what to make of it. No question the "Patriot Act" and "Homeland Security" give me the creeps. I notice no one appears to have an actual copy of the text of either posted anywhere.

If we are prepared to fight a two front war what is to stop the "Axis of Hate" from initiating a three, four or five front war the day after we deploy troops in Iraq?

It would be a terrible thing to have to nuke the Panama Canal after all the effort we put into it's construction.

Correct. We should be prepared to defend the HOMEFRONT with our HOMEFRONT rifles and equipment and we should establish HOMEFRONT training ranges in every nook and cranny of America where citizens can go to practice marksmanship and learn the strategy and tactices of true National Security. THAT would be the proper conservative approach to HOMEFRONT Security.
