How would you like to be the next conservative judge up for conformation in the Senate, and have Trent Lott speaking on your behalf?

Do you think Pickering has a chance now? Do you think ANYONE that we would like to see in the Supreme Court has a snowball’s chance in hell of being confirmed while Trent Lott is Majority Leader?

That is only one reason Lott should go, out of many. He will be gone soon, after the next shoe drops after his press conference. They are setting him up big time, and he will likely leave the Senate now. Had conservatives asked him to step aside earlier, he might have survived as a back bencher. Lott is toast, and he will be home in Mississippi for good, sooner than you think.

He has already been elected for next term. If he stepped down now, there would have to be a second election for majority leader.

Exactly....wish Lott had the guts to say to the media....I was trying to honor a 100 year old Senator....you all put words in my mouth that I never used!

(BTW I almost upchucked my breakfast this morning when Rosen on FOX NEWS actually said that 'Lott praised Thurmond's Segregational Campaign'....Lott did no such thing...he never said those words but anyone not familiar with the actual statement would think that he did!)

Lott should challenge the media to encourage Sen. Byrd to resign for his membership in the KKK and his use of the digusting term...White Nigger! The NYT is a propaganda arm of the DNC!
