THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA AND THE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA COAST.

.DAY ONE...TODAY

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

A SERIES OF SIGNIFICANT PACIFIC STORMS WILL BE AFFECTING THE BAY AREA AND CENTRAL COAST...WITH THE FIRST RAINS EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN THE NORTH BAY TONIGHT...SPREADING DOWN INTO THE REST OF THE REGION ON FRIDAY. THE PEAK OF THE STORM WILL ARRIVE SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT PRODUCING PERIODS OF VERY HEAVY RAIN...FLOODING...COASTAL FLOODING...HIGH SURF...AND STRONG WINDS TO THE AREA...WITH THE NORTH BAY LIKELY TO RECEIVE THE WORST CONDITIONS OVERALL. RAIN TOTALS COULD EXCEED A FOOT IN THE NORTH BY SUNDAY. ANOTHER STRONG STORM WILL BE ARRIVING SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY TO ADD TO THE FLOODING POTENTIAL.

Same system blew through here this morning - winds as high as 60 mph, along with heavy rains. Get the generator out and make sure it runs.

Just talked to a friend in the San Jose area. She said they are predicting a heavy storm in the Bay. Seems strange to see this sort of warning in California!

Seems strange to see this sort of warning in California!

Back in '82 we had "the storm of the century." Oodles of properties damaged, a number of deaths. One area, called Love Creek was inundated by a mudslide. The houses are still buried. Now that we're in a new century, maybe this is ANOTHER "storm of the century." At least we're being warned this time; we weren't before.

So far, it's been pretty light here in NE San Jose. The big chunck are coming tho. This looks to be a mid to northern parts of california rain thing. Too bad, I know there are a lot of dry spots in the state. I guess we could sell the rain water to our valley and socal friends for, oH ..say, $5 a gallon. ;-P

Oh boy! Do I remember that one. I worked for the local flood control district at the time. The waste water treatment plant was under five feet of water. We were dumping 13 million gallons/hr. of untreated water to the bay. And, we shoveled three 10yd. dump trucks worth of sand bags. Whew!

I love your -- and all -- peacocks! Not only are they gorgeous but they make a wonderful, haunting sound. My neighbors in Big Sur had them when I spent a year there 2394734 years ago; I also lived in Mendocino and SF (sans peacocks in the 'hood). I do remember a big Christmas storm in SF, maybe in 82, when it was all we could do to get over the wet, icy streets to the Mark Hopkins for Christmas buffet -- well worth the effort.

Hope you and your feathered friends stay dry enough.

Thanks for the concern. Doin' all right in Silly-Con Valley. Steady rain, but not overwhelmingly heavy thusfar. As long as the power stays on, I can keep on Freepin' ;-)

Well, tonight, Arnold drive near the Altimira Jr. High is closed.
The creek under the bridge near the London Lodge filled almost to top and its still coming down! Glad groceries are stocked, and beer supply up for football! ;) The last time you mentioned, all grocery trucks had trouble getting here to deliver and shelves were empty. Glad we stayed prepared. I picked up my truck from being serviced today, or I would be stuck getting in and out driving over my own bridge! ;)

Saturday 2:07 PM Central Valley near Modesto.

Strong wind from the south east, with very strong gust.

Last time it was like this we had to replace the roof, and a fence.

Looked up the weather report for the area and it claims it will calm down later in the day (I hope so).
