I've been on the phone to goldbugs all morning.
They're ready to get excited. ;^)
Jim Sinclair is claiming the battle with the Cartel is over, and the gold bulls have won.
We'll see.

Jim Sinclair predicted that gold would close over $330 this week...He says the shorts are finished...

This is a monumental breakout. Gold has been pushing against the $330 mark for months, failing each time. It has not closed above $330 since October 9, 1997, when it was in a bearish trend.
This is huge good news for those who own gold or gold stocks - unless they are short, of course!

Yesterday was way too quiet and then I couldn't get a gold quote this morning. Maybe Greenspan can't fight on two fronts and just has to support the stock market instead of trying to surpress gold too. We'll see tomorrow. For today, it is great news.

They're ready to get excited. Careful! It would be prudent to merely consider the remotest possibility of getting ready to be excited. Actually BEING ready to be excited is just setting up one's goldbug self for yet another disappointment.
To: Semaphore Heathcliffe
I for one, will not allow myself to get excited about anything.
That way I never risk disappointment...

Good, sound policy. Au is a harsh teacher, but the lessons learned are invaluable. Now, if we can just hurry up and get to the gold bubble phase (he said "patiently")...
