Catholic bishops recently sent out their standard candidate questionaires to Sen. Mary Landrieu and Suzy Terrell.
Landrieu appeared to answer all of the questions as if she was totally pro-life, according to a copy of the questionaire we have recieved. (at the ABC News Politcal Unit)
According to pro-life groups the record contradicts Landrieu's survey answers.
For example one of the questions asked whether Landrieu supported the Hyde Amendment, which would have prohibited Medicaid from paying for abortions.
Articles and documents show that Landrieu once opposed the Hyde Amendment, calling herself 'pro-choice but not pro-abortion' in a 1996 interview with a Baton Rouge newspaper.
According to the National Catholic Register, five of seven dioceses in Louisiana concluded that Landrieu's were so inaccurate that they refused to distribute their own voter guides.
Pro life groups are having a field day over this, even though it's concievable that Landrieu might have changed her positions simply because she changed her mind.
But in a state where Catholic Democrats are essential swing voters, it arguably doesn't look good [for Sen. Landrieu].

Of course she's changed her mind...Catholic pro-abortion politicians change their mind every election. Difference here is, nobody's buying it anymore.

This is excellent. Fellow Catholics, what can we do to help spread the word in Louisiana? May all Catholics finally reject the pro-abortion and totally immoral RAT party.

Plus Dubya has given Suzy his national directory of contacts for last minute fundraising.
The Rove team really is nailing it so far, I had good vibes when Ralph Reed was sent in the other day.

Ralph Reed=Political genius. Twelve years ago I attended a Catholic pro-life fundraiser at which Buchanon spoke. He said, in order to defeat abortion, Evangelicals and Catholics would have to work together. Theological differences aside, this is one issue we are joining hands on and, God willing, can win. Pray and work everybody. V's wife.

As I keep saying, Rove is the Man!
I knew he would be effective when I heard that he's taken Horowitz' Art of Political War to heart.
Go Rove! Keep the off balance, keep them clawing for traction! You're the Man!

I guess Ralph had a pretty successful cycle in GA recently, not only knocking off the D Senator, but a Governor, as well, huh?

Democrats seem to assume the voters are TOTAL idiots. Don't they know that Ms Landrieu has been among the most left-wing Senators, voting consistently for abortion and the other items on the liberal agenda? She must rate an 80 or a 90 from the leftist ADA!
I figured the Catholics would let her get away with telling them what they wanted to hear, instead of the truth. Maybe there IS yet hope.
