"No more blood for oil.

Wasn't that the mantra for Gulf War I?

What a moron. I wish I hadn't seen this until after I had seen the movie.

Another idiot from Hollywood. That's about the last thing this country needs.

Ol' Viggo has a longstanding case of Foot-in-Mouth.

Well everybody knows this whole "evil ring of power" business was just a scheme cooked up by those fat cats in Gondor and the Shire to gain control of Mordor's valuable geothermal energy sources and exploit the oppressed Orc races.

Ok, and actor, who has already been paid for his work, has silly views, so I am supposed to boycott this movie because of it? Charlton Heston worked in movies with liberals. I am confused.. Should I still watch them because he is in them, or should their liberalism cancel that out?

I will be in line at 11:30 Tuesday night waiting to get into the midnight showing. If anybody seriously thinks that by not watching this movie, they are standing up for the war in Iraq, be my guest. This guy is an actor. I don't know if my mechanic, my banker, or my grocery clerk support Bush's policies in the gulf, I just care if they do their job.

Oye vey. I heard that the janitor at Krispy Kreme is not in favor of Fast Track Authority for NAFTA, I better go to Dunkin Donuts this morning...

He can have his silly views and I can watch him give a good performance as Aragorn and we can both go home happy. If I know anything about LOTR, the movie is going to send precisely the opposite view of his t-shirt - it will say to touse from your apathy, forgegoe appeasement, and fight evil before your neck of the woods is the next to be threatned. Also I'll get to see cool Ents and trolls.

The idiots trying to change the message of what is shaping up as the greatest movie of all time, delivered at the perfect time, will succeed only in destroying their own reputations.

Last year it was Ian trying to trash the movie. This year its Viggo. So what? The movie is a lot bigger than the petty actors who are trying to trash their own greatest accomplishments.

Let 'em. I'll still enjoy the movie. Many times. I just won't watch Viggo in whatever else he may come out with.

"No more blood for oil. Wasn't that the mantra for Gulf War I?

Wasn't it also the reason we were there? I know, I know, there's the window dressing about using the armed forces of the American Republic, who swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States, to restore a king on the other side of the globe to his throne because the evil dictator and erstwhile American ally to his northwest had decided to attack southeast instead of just east, but c'mon, does anyone really think we'd have been over there if there wasn't any oil? We manage to stay out of the dozens of 'aggressions' that occur in Africa, etc.

I think it would be cutting off our nose to spite their faces. There are a lot of good messages in these stories. Young people are paying a lot of attention to these messages. Just this one idiot shouldn't make them a wash. Just boycott all other Vitto Mortenson works.

Yeah... just points out that yes, oil IS worth a certain amount of blood. Nothing wrong with that.

elija wood has one facial expression throughout the film: like he took a dump in his pants and is afraid someone will notice.

He went on to compare the terrible thing we did recently in Afghanistan with the terrible thing we did in WWII.

I wonder what those were? Someone should remind Viggo of the old saying,
"It's better to keep your mouth closed and have people think you a fool, than open it and confirm it."

Yeah, apparently the libs want Americans to risk their lives for absolutely no reason at all like in Haiti and Yugoslavia.
