New York area FReepers:
Here is a terrific activist opportunity for you! The radical pinko Commie Fascist Left is coming out December 14 for an "antiwar" (read: hate-america) rally. It would be great to see them met along the way by lines of FReepers, just as they have been here in DC.
Peacefully meeting these anti-American radicals by taking a stand for our country would be a significant counter-coup.
Here is the announcement from the group's website:
"The ProLibertad Freedom Campaign is calling on all our supporters, allies and friends to support the Saturday December 14th, 2002 Anti-War demonstration at 12pm."
If you doubt that this is simply the latest cover for anti-Americanism, look at the list of sponsors fronm the website:

Friends, {Not comrades?}
In less than two weeks the Anti-War movement will hit the streets of Uptown Manhattan.
War mongers in the White house and on Wall Street have been beating their drums for some time now. We recognize the urgency of opposing this war, which would represent not only an attack on the innocent people of Iraq, but also on our communities at home. December 14th will be our turn to sound off.
{That's it. Wall Street wants the war. All market analysts are liars. We all knowhow much the market loves instability.
No wonder htese idiots think a cabal runs things. They have no concept of how the market works.}
Unemployment is on the rise and the economy is struggling. The military budget is almost $400 billion-- 5 times higher than any other country. -{4.2% of our GDP in time of war.}
Where is the money coming from? The money comes from social programs that protect our basic rights as human beings.
The people are funding this war; with our tax dollars, our housing, our hospitals and schools.
The governor has declared that a child needs no more than an eighth grade education. Meanwhile, letters are flooding our high schools requesting information for the army, and recruiters are descending upon City college campuses like hawks. Young, working people of color-- we are the targets!
Where can a young person go without a quality education? Without a chance for good employment? The answer from Bush and his boys is simple: either jail or war. Those are the options.
{The Young Communist League seems to have another job for these kids: speech writers!}
We say no.
Representing the youth of Harlem and Washington Heights, Uptown for Peace & Justice calls on the people of New York City to come out on December 14 and demand an end to the racist attacks at home and abroad.
We make this call in defense of our schools, jobs and communities; in defense of the lives of young people who will be forced to kill or be killed in this unjust war.
-----------------
Demand an end to the poverty draft: targeting Black and Latino youth for military service is a crime!
{Whites from the Appalachians are ok? Asians from NY are cannon fodder?}
Demand an end to the looting of our communities to fund this unjust war! {People with negative tax rates aren't being looted. They are professional looters. Besides, I thought commies held property to be theft.}
Protest the continued murder of innocent people around the world!
We Ain't Going Nowhere! No To War in Iraq! Yes to Schools and Jobs!
{I see a definite need for a remedial writting programs here. Unfortunately, these are the kiddies trying to get rid of all standards at CUNY}

============================
The Bush Administration seems determined to go to war against Iraq no matter what happens with the U.N. inspections. But the breadth of opposition to this reckless crusade will be demonstrated on December 10, when people all over the United States will hold coordinated anti-war events.
1. RALLY AND CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE AT U.N. The National Council of Churches, along with many other faith- based and pacifist groups, is marking International Human Rights Day with bold action against the Iraq war: mass civil disobedience at the United Nations. Gather 10AM, Tuesday, December 10, at First Avenue and 47th Street; you can show your support without risking arrest. Much more information at
http://www.ncccusa.org/iraq/iraqschedule.html
2. UPTOWN ANTI-WAR MARCH ORGANIZING MEETING
On December 14, Uptown Youth for Peace & Justice will be holding a major anti-war march in Harlem. This youth-of-color-led action will be the most important opportunity this season to express your opposition to the Iraq War. Help make it happen by going to their organizing meeting, December 4 at 6:30pm, 2005 Amsterdam Avenue at 159th Street, 2nd floor. More info: Karim,(347) 203-6157
3. ANTI-WAR LEAFLETING AND OUTREACH
Join Mobilize New York - yep, that's us - as we spread the word about opportunities for action against the war. Meet at 1pm at the south end of Union Square this Saturday, December 7, to hand out leaflets and sign people up for the Mobilize email list. We'll also be giving away free anti-war stickers. RSVP to info@mobilize-ny.org
4. "WHY WE MUST INVADE IRAQ RIGHT NOW!" Hmm, now why exactly is there such an urgent need for the U.S. to go to war on Iraq? Mark Fiore's fabulous online animation may help clear up the confusion.

5. TEN REASONS TO OPPOSE THE IRAQ WAR OK, more seriously now, Global Exchange has produced a concise summary of reasons to oppose the war. Share it with friends and family or just give it a read-through so you'll be prepared to discuss the issue with anyone.
