Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) said Sunday he is taking the first step towards running for President in 2004, forming a committee to explore a White House bid.
An official announcement of his candidacy is 'down the road' some months away, Kerry said.
But, he said, I've made a decision to file a committee, I'm going to begin this week to file a committee' to test the waters.
'When you really get into the formal stage, which I am now entering, you find out who's prepared to be there, who can raise the money,' Kerry said to Tim Russert on NBC's 'Meet the Press.'

If it is Edwards, the Dems are hoping to get a Haircut elected to the Presidency. He would lose his own state.
If it is Kerry, it is a $100M set of capped teeth. If he can "kerry" any state besides Mass., maybe the Dist of Columbia?

Where is his private island located? We need to use the expression, "No Man is an Island" against him.

Kerry is a complete fraud.
I saw a bit him this morning on Russert`s program.
I thought that he looked like a dead person!
He is so in touch with the common man.
When he ran against Governor Weld 7 years ago the Media went to his home on Beacon Hill for Halloween night. He had a Housekeeper there. Governor Weld was personally handing out treats at his home in Cambridge. Kerry found out and left the resataurant he was in in order to get his image on the tube handing out candy.
Do common people get fire hydrants removed from in front of their home in order to get a parking spot?
He is a complete fake!
I will never understand the people in my home State!

The good thing about starting early is that he may peak early. Like yesterday.

... the lies being promulgated by these contenders will be fast and furious ... Oh they already started with the meet the depressed campaign feed Russert did for Kerry. My particular favorite was, roughly quoted, "Look, this administration has wasted an entire year with homeland defense ..." On George steponallofus' democrat program, the effort was to position ANY terrorist attack, even a handgrenade thrown into a bus station, as a failure of the Bush Administration to stop terrorism. The democrat party is actually salivating, waiting for the next unpreventable terrorist attack by Hezbollah, Hamas, a Qaeda, etc., so they can demagogue that murderous assault as the fault of the Bush administration. The damn democrats are ghouls poised to spring at ANY terrorist murderings as the fault of the Bushies. Makes me sick of the despotic bastards and their gross manipulations ... they defend the indefensible for eight years (not just sinkEmperor, they defended as enlightened social policy the use of partial birth abortion, thus defense of the indefensible) and now want there to be more murderous attacks on Americans so they can demagogue that to their political leverage!

Massachusetts democrats have one big advantage in the dem primary season, and that's their high name-recognition factor in New Hampshire. It gave Dukakis a big early boost in his 1988 run, and, later in 1992, Paul Tsongas also got an early lead on the pack (only to later falter and let Clinton in the door).
So we can expect Kerry to be alive at least in the early going.

Run, John, Run!
You have all the political charisma of Adlai Stevenson, all the intellectual attainment of the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001" (which is to say, you are smart because you say you are smart, though there are few examples of your scholistic prowness), and an inherited fortune you believe is yours to squander.
About as good a combination as the Democrats have been able to find within their ranks. That organization should, in the proper scheme of things, declare bankruptcy, let their existing resources be reallocated to those who would make greater benefit of them, and be reorganized as a real political party.

Opposition Research from Howie Carr:(Kerry) has so much clout, the city moved a fire hydrant from in front of his wife's Beacon Hill mansion. But above all else, the man is a gigolo's gigolo. How many guys could dump a first wife from a blueblood family worth $300 million, and end up on the rebound with a second wife worth $600 million?
``Put down that I saw him cut in line once at Legal Sea Food in Chestnut Hill,'' said another guy. ``More than once, as a matter of fact. He's a line-cutter and a name-dropper.''
Here's another Liveshot (Kerry's sordid nickname) story, told to me by a major Boston nightclub owner who had a luscious young galpal. One night, they're all getting down, and among the guests is a four-sheets-to-the-wind Liveshot. The girl, who's up on current events, starts tearing into Kerry for his weathervane-like voting record, telling him he needs to make a ``commitment.''
``Baby,'' he finally says, swaying ever so slightly in the breeze, ``I am ready right now to make a commitment. To you.''
In those days, before he tracked down 63-year-old ketchup heiress Teresa Heinz, Liveshot was known as a cheapskate tipper. Between heiresses, he could flash cash for a convertible and a fancy imported motorcycle, yet he had nothing to give to charity. Beautiful People seldom do, have you noticed?
But the 58-year-old boytoy has changed his ways. He no longer flies to Florida on private jets belonging to S&L bandidos. No more quick flips of condos to raise cash.
Now he summers at the Heinz mansion on Nantucket, and when he has a party, the servants haul porta-toilets onto the spacious oceanfront lawn so that the hoi polloi need never defile the master's water closet.
Speaking of plebeians, do you recall the late state rep from Revere, Billy Reinstein? During one of his occasional meet-the-peasants tours, Liveshot deigned to address some legislators. Reinstein told his pals, watch this, and then sauntered up to Kerry and introduced himself - as Butch Cataldo, the state rep he'd defeated to win the seat.
``Why Butch, good to see you again!'' Liveshot began. ``How are you doing Butch! How's the family, Butch!''
Bush vs. Kerry. Andover vs. St. Paul's. Yale '68 vs. Yale '66. Right now you'd have to bet on Bush, unless the game is marrying heiresses.

Every time the Dems complain that President Bush isn't doing enough to fight the war against terror, I think it will backfire on them.
a) It makes them sound like whiners. In a time of war you all pull together, and the troops don't stand around criticizing the general.
b) Most people trust Bush to fight the war more than they trust any of these Democrats. All you have to do is look at them to see who looks like a Commander-in-Chief.
c) It infuriates their left-wing base, who think they should all be fighting for peace at any price, not acting like a bunch of war-mongers.
