Add them up in the state and there is your vote difference. This needs to come to a halt!

And there's no end to those who have no conscience about committing fraud.....and there'll be no end, as you've said Lion, with this kind of "punishment": "hand-slapping" or telling them "no, no, don't do that."

Candidates say absentee vote fraud widespread

Six candidates in the May primary in East Chicago, including mayoral challenger George Pabey, are alleging widespread vote fraud in the city.

They want a judge to impound more than 1,600 absentee ballot applications that have been received so far by county election officials.

The allegations and the request for a preliminary injunction were filed Monday in a lawsuit in Lake Superior Court in Crown Point.

The lawsuit attempts to strike at the heart of the city’s Democratic machine headed by Mayor Robert Pastrick by listing allegations of pressure tactics used to force city employees and their families to vote for him to keep their jobs.

The lawsuit lists a litany of allegations relating to potential voter fraud including:

Valdez requesting and collecting absentee ballots from city employees and many new hires in the city;

Callas, who holds three jobs in the city, is listed as the coordinator of the absentee ballot process for the “machine”;

Paying money to the homeless and drug addicted to cast false votes; as well as collecting votes from non-residents, non-citizens, the dead and nursing home residents.

The lawsuit even lists an attempt to sign up a special education student at East Chicago Central High School for an absentee ballot.

The student’s mother, Gilda Orange, says the candidates will stop at nothing to win. “It’s just amazing to me the lengths these people will go to. I'm really upset,” Orange said of the recent attempt. “Don’t abuse the handicapped children.”

Voter IDs might be costly
April 21, 2003

If not politics, the state's financial problems might doom a Republican plan to require voters to show photo identification before casting ballots in Wisconsin. Advertisement.

The Assembly last month passed a voter ID bill that would require the state to issue free photo ID cards to voters who don't already have them. The bill, similar to proposals introduced in previous sessions of the Legislature, is needed to ensure the integrity of elections and to help prevent voter fraud, Republicans say.

But the plan would cause an estimated $736,900 dip in fee revenue, which might lead Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle to kill it, even if it makes it through the Republican-controlled Senate.

Voters: Mail ballot signatures forged
Candidate denies signing applications; DA investigating
04/22/2003

A Dallas City Council candidate submitted at least 12 mail ballot applications that contained the forged signatures of voters, according to interviews with voters and the elections administrator.

Clair Conly Woertendyke, a candidate for council District 3, submitted about 265 applications for mail ballots this month. The Dallas County elections department spotted the questionable applications because they appeared to be signed by the same person and came from the same West Dallas precinct. The Dallas County district attorney's office is investigating the possibility of forgery.

In interviews, eight voters said they did not sign the applications that Mr. Woertendyke sent to the elections department. And two of the voters whose applications were submitted moved from West Dallas more than a year ago, neighbors said.

Mr. Woertendyke said he did not forge the signatures and argued that it could not be proved whether the signatures are bogus. He said a voter's relative might have signed the application for the voter, and the voter simply forgot. He said neither he nor his campaign volunteers could ask a voter for identification.

"Most of these seniors ... can't remember what they did yesterday," said Mr. Woertendyke, who lost an election for Dallas County clerk in November. "There is always the possibility that someone in the family signed for it and the person [the voter] did not know."

Bruce Sherbet, Dallas County elections administrator, said Monday that he had sent the applications to the Dallas County district attorney's office for investigation.

"There is no question in my mind that the voters didn't sign those applications," Mr. Sherbet said.

Registration on day of election considered
Backers say plan would draw more voters
April 17, 2003

....."I'm one of the advocates that North Carolina should be the seventh state and remove this barrier (to voting)," said Rep. Earline Parmon, D-Forsyth. "It will help younger people get involved." Parmon said.

To discourage voter fraud, people would be required to show identification and proof of residency, and sign a statement swearing that the information they gave is accurate. They could be prosecuted for perjury - a felony -if they lie.

"There's more checks on this kind of voting than on any other kind of voting that you do in this state," said Rep. Deborah Ross, D-Wake, a chief sponsor of the bill that is scheduled for debate in a House committee today.

Chris Haggerty of the N.C. Center for Voter Education said he was initially skeptical of the proposal, given the history of voter fraud in North Carolina. But he said that the multiple security provisions put his doubts to rest.

Ehrlich campaign accused of deception
April 19, 2003

UPPER MARLBORO (Maryland) -- State prosecutors said yesterday that Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s campaign hired hundreds of homeless people to hand out Election Day literature in an attempt to deceive voters and create "the illusion of support."

"They were hired to pose as supporters," Assistant State Prosecutor Thomas M. McDonough told Prince George's County Circuit Judge Richard H. Sothoron Jr. The accusation came during a hearing in the case of three people charged with violating a 1979 state law that bars the use of so-called "walk-around money," the payment of Election Day poll workers. Lawyers for the three defendants, however, say the law is unconstitutional and the charges must be thrown out.

* * *

Court records show the payment of the Election Day workers was witnessed by an investigator from State Prosecutor Stephen Montanarelli's office, who watched as more than 100 homeless persons were paid $150 each the day after the election.

Brookins' lawyers have acknowleded that the workers were paid.

"The papers Ms. Brookins paid people to distribute were campaign materials," Nathans stated in a 16-page brief filed Feb. 19.

In addition to the homeless workers from Washington, the Democrats for Ehrlich Committee recruited high school and college students from Prince George's County to hand out campaign materials on Election Day. The students, however, said they were never paid as promised.

Want to vote.....get an ID card. Excuse me here, but the state shouldn't have to give free cards. This was probably just a way to kill the bill.

I have spent most of today reading this thread's links. Incredible stories of fraud with no consequences!! Living in California, I know about voter fraud, and am livid about it. Poll watchers are not even allowed inside the polls here, which renders us useless for the most part.
I will do all I can to help prevent democrats from attempting to steal the election of '04, and you know they will, but with the laws here favoring RATS, it is a difficult task!
Thanks so much for one of the most informative threads in the history of FR!

Vote Fraud Ping!

Chicago:

Hearing scheduled on absentee ballots
April 23, 2003

By Michael Puente / Post-Tribune staff writer

EAST CHICAGO — Attorneys for six candidates in the East Chicago Democratic primary will be in court Friday morning seeking an injunction to impound more than 1,600 absentee ballots.

Lake Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Dywan, seated in Crown Point, will hear the motion seeking a preliminary injunction made by the defendants.

The plaintiffs are led by mayoral candidate George Pabey, who is also an at-large city councilman, City Councilman Richard Medina, D-at-large, and City Council candidates Adolfo Velez, Samuel Perez and Robert Garcia.

Named as defendants are East Chicago Mayor Robert A. Pastrick, city park superintendent Jose Valdez, Andrew Callas, Alex Sarkisian, along with four Lake County Election Board members, including Anna Anton, who is also county clerk.

The lawsuit, filed Monday, asks for a review of the absentee ballot process and the election procedure in East Chicago.

The lawsuit lists several allegations relating to potential voter fraud such as requiring city employees to submit absentee ballots.

The lawsuit also alleges that supporters of Pastrick’s “machine” pays money to the homeless and drug addicted to cast false votes; as well as collecting votes from non-residents, non-citizens, the dead and nursing home residents.

The plaintiffs are seeking to have every absentee ballot checked for legitimacy.

A potential huge roadblock for the plaintiffs in proving the allegations, however, is that many individuals who are aware of the process are afraid to speak out for fear of losing their city job, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit lists examples of what the plaintiffs see as voter fraud.

The lawsuit cites a Hector G. Sanchez who applied for an absentee ballot application with an address at 3919 Fir St. in Eat Chicago but who no longer lives there.

An elderly woman, who lives at 3909 Fir St., who is listed as having applied for an absentee ballot, said she is not a U.S. citizens and therefore she does not vote.

Another person, a Jordan Triplett, is listed of having applied for an absentee ballot with an address of 4022 Deodar St., but he does not live there.

Another absentee ballot is also going to a Cassandra Bell at 3829 Catalpa, although she does not live there.

The plaintiff also allege that 29 absentee ballots are going to small cities in Texas along the Rio Grande.

Up to nine people are listed as having applied for absentee ballots but who do not live at the address of 4030 Pulaski St.

Although none wanted to give their name, some supporters of Pastrick say some of the fraudulent absentee ballots may be for Pabey and fellow mayor candidate Lonnie Randolph.

“All those absentee ballots are not for (Pastrick),” said one Pastrick campaign supporter.

Vote fraud is now a Federal Offense so if these cities don't start cleaning up their act, they will have probes placed where, I am sure, they don't want them.

"The Assembly last month passed a voter ID bill that would require the state to issue free photo ID cards to voters who don't already have them. "

This is without a doub t the lamest, most bogus BS excuse I've ever heard. Just try to do anything in this country without having to show an ID. It is impossible. These people have ID. The RATs do now want people having to show ID, because it gets in their way. It is as simple as that.

It is an extremely frustrating problem. Arkansas is steeped in corrupt RAT politics too....worse than you could imagine. They tried to get a bill through recently that would in effect prohibit poll watchers. This was a direct result of this past election. They completely freaked out that there were actually people around keeping an eye on them this time and they wanted none of it. Fortunately, thanks to the ongoing efforts of stop_the_rats and other area FReepers riding the governor and those legislators involved incessantly, that portion was removed from the bill, so we have a reprieve for now.
