I've been checking on that site for well over a year, it seems. All there ever was was a "Coming soon" banner.
I had just about given up on it.

All there ever was was a "Coming soon" banner. Then I guess you truly are happy about that, lol. Wonder why it took so long to get going. Gosh, how long have you known about Steyn? I only learned about him for your posts, and that's only been a few months ago, I think, pokey. How did you first know about him, newspapers?

For those of us who have somehow missed out on what is apparently a Good Thing, could you tell us who Mark Steyn is, and why we want to partake of his web site? No sarcastic tone of voice here...really want to know! :-)

Mark Steyn is a Canadian who lives in New Hampshire, and writes columns for American, Canadian, and British papers. He is a conservative and writes some of the funniest political commentary I have ever read.
Many of his columns have been posted here. If you search on Steyn you will get a fair sampling of his columns.

Mark Steyn is one of the best columnists around! You've been missing out.
To: TEXOKIE
could you tell us who Mark Steyn isBest columnist/essayist in the English-speaking world, bar NONE.

He also manages to be funny in a way that doesn't come across as cruel, which seems to be a major problem when the left tries humour. Check out Michael Moore for an excellent example of his opposite.
One of the best ways of putting this is that even some of his enemies can't help but like the guy. Here's one of his best columns, an affectionate tribute to an old enemy who is somehow also a friend.
On the other hand, I was hoping for more of a column archive in his web site. And can you believe Amazon quotes "1-2 weeks" for shipping on his book? Guess they don't have any copies yet. I will have to wait until they're a bit better stocked before ordering. That sales rank of 4,820 isn't bad for a book that doesn't even have a decent delivery time.
