I agree wholeheartedly!

I like it!
Rice in 2008? Maybe...
However, I think after the next election she should go back to her homestate of California, WIN THE GOVERNORSHIP, and then - having won an important office in a general election - enter the Republican presidential primaries.
Ronald Reagan did it, she can too.

There's a lot to what you say, but I would prefer to downplay the symbolism angle. The fact is that Dr. Rice is an unusually competent, principled and determined human being. That is what will qualify her for the Presidency. Stressing her gender and skin color lends support to the inevitable Democrat cries of tokenism.
Just as they were able to spin (and successfully sell) the lie that the Clinton Impeachment was all about sex, and not about perjury, they will try to say that Dr. Rice's candidacy is all about tokenism and not about her fitness for the office. With enough stressing of symbolism by the right, they may even be able to sell it.
Look for the Dems to brand her as a Bee-atch, a N----- and a Ho. How will the enlightened left get away with it? They'll put their House N-----s (Belafonte's term) up to it, that's how.

I wonder why she so consistently gets a "bye" on
apparently favoring rights for blacks, but not for inconvenient or imperfect babies. Seems to me that's a problem, and we're not so hard-up that we can pretend it isn't.
That aside, I'd be gearing up for enthusiastic-enough support. But someone who can't figure out that babies should be welcomed and protect, hasn't the ethical smarts to govern.

The Republicans will be nuts if they don't run Condi in '08. She has the potential to change everything, and she would make an excellent president.
Not sure if she'll agree to run, but maybe...

Ms Rice will have to experience a "Road-to-Damascus" experience re abortion before she would have a real chance of getting the nomination or the election. It can be done: GHW did it and he did not waffle or crawfish after the election was in the bag.

That's not a brand new idea...
I said it over a year ago.
Condi is the Hillary [affect] eraser. A woman and a minority....she would destroy Hillary on any ticket.

FReeper Alex P. Keaton (Patrick Ruffini) conceived of a Bush-Rice ticket before Bush chose Cheney as his running mate in 2000.
Here's a partial history of the Rice for VP/President movement.
