Anger in the U.K. Over London Hosting Miss World [British Feminists and Academics Complaining!]

British feminists and academics expressed anger at a decision to host the Miss World Pageant in London after contestants and organizers fled Nigeria following violent protests, the Guardian newspaper reported.

The violence was sparked by an article in the Nigerian paper ThisDay, which suggested that the Prophet Mohammad would have wanted to marry one of the contestants.

'It is completely despicable that we have agreed to host this travesty,' the Guardian cited Scottish writer and broadcaster Muriel Gray as saying.

"OK girls, here's the drill. Just like as we were gonna do in Nigeria, we'll start with the artillery, the band will lob a few grenades out in front, and that's when you'll hop over the berm, strut your stuff and high-tail it to the other end. Don't worry, the rest of the girls will be laying down covering fire as you go. Everybody ready?! Let's DO IT!"

Muriel Gray
1959 -

Author, broadcaster and businesswoman. Born in East Kilbride, the daughter of a merchant seaman. Educated at the Glasgow School of Art, Gray went on to become Assistant Head of Design in the National Museum of Antiquities in Edinburgh. She also followed a secondary career as a member of the rock group The Von Trapp Family and it was this which led to her appearing as a presenter on the Channel 4 television series The Tube (1982). With her trademark bleached hair, sharp wit and opinionated comment, Gray became familar as the post-punk presenter of a range of television programmes, including The Media Show (1987-9). Gray started her own television production company, Gallus Besom in 1989, and this was responsible for her shows Art is dead, Long Live TV (1991) which engendered a popularist view of modern art and The Munro Show (1991) which saw Gray climbing the mountains of Scotland. Her company Ideal World is now the biggest TV production company in Scotland. Known for her strongly held views, Gray writes regularly for various newspapers and became the first female Rector of the University of Edinburgh (1988-91).

By the late 1990s, Gray had re-invented herself as a mother and successful horror-writer, with books including The Tickster (1995), Furnace (1997) and The Ancient (2001). A mother of three, her middle child suffered severe brain-damage following a drowning accident in a neighbour's pond while in the care of a nanny. Thereafter, Gray has devoted herself to full-time motherhood, followed by part-time writing once the children are in bed!

I was not aware the Brits do not have any male weightlifting or male gymnastics or male sports of any kind!I know their summers are short over there, but I must just have imagined the "euro" blase acceptance of topless beaches and questionable humor.

I had no idea the BBC featured only intellectual debates!I must apologise to Mad Ivan, since I was under the impression that Brits actually had what I considered pornography on the BBC.

I actually thought China or Russia would have been a better choice for security reasons for the ladies in the pageant.

I will make a deal with British intellectuals, let them take the privilege of hosting the UN, and the USA will host all Miss World pageants.Problem solved!Everyone will be happy!

Precisely. The one unifying theme of modern leftist thought, in all of its manifestations, is hatred of western man and western culture. For a variety of philosophical reasons, they have developed an irrational hatred of us...we are their white whale which must be destroyed at all costs.

Feminism was created to destroy our family structure. Environmentalism was created to destroy our property rights. Multiculturalism was created to relativize our culture and make our youth ashamed of their ancestors. Immigration is encouraged to demographically marginalize us.

Muslim immigration is a classic example of Frankenstein's monster coming home to the lab with a vengeance. The liberals have encouraged third world immigration to speed us on the path of destruction. Unfortunately, some of the "people of color" whom they are allowing to stream into the west happen to hold a variety of ideas that are fanatically reactionary (subjugation of women, hatred of gays, religious intolerance, etc).

By allowing their irrational hatred of us to blind them to reality, the liberal elites are importing people who oppose most of their agenda in a violent fashion. Its one of history's more humorous ironies.
