Does anyone have the picture of Clinton looking through binocs w/ lens covers?
Posted on 11/25/2002 8:56:53 AM PST by Maceman
There is a picture circulating of Bush looking through binocs with lens covers on, and the DU'ers are having a ball with it.
I know there is a similar pic of Clinton doing the same thing. Can anyone post it?
Also, can someone post the pic of Al Gore looking down the barrel of his rifle?
A liberal friend on mine just sent me the picture of Bush, with the caption "Why We Can't Find bin-Laden."
Any help in wiping the smirk off my friends face would be appreciated.

BTW, don't believe everything Snopes says. They also pooh-pooh the VERY long list of Clinton's dead ex-friends on the grounds that any president is going to know lots and lots of people, and some of them are bound to turn up dead. Not everyone has had the good fortune to have studied probability and statistics, and Snopes is flat wrong here.

Great pics! Thanks for posting them. The comparison makes a good laugh on Monday morning.
from www.snopes.com
Claim: Photographs show Presidents Clinton and Bush peering through binoculars with the lens caps still in place. Status: Undetermined. Example: [Collected on the Internet, 2001]
The picture on the left is of Bill Clinton. The picture on the right is of George W. Bush. Both pictures were taken at the Korean DMZ. What is at issue is that one of the two didn't have enough sense to remove the lens caps from the binoculars before the photo opportunity. Perhaps one of them was more interested in posing and too clueless to ask why everything was black, while the other was simply interested in seeing.

Origins: The photographs above have been a favorite item of political humor on web sites since last year, and now they've been joined by a similar picture representing the opposite end of the spectrum:
Real? Manipulated? We can't say for sure, but either way these photographs demonstrate nothing beyond the trivial. As much as we may enjoy poking fun at our politicians, they aren't so clueless that they don't know binoculars don't work with the lens caps in place, or would stand confusedly staring through capped binoculars at total blackness for several minutes at a time. The Presidents in these pictures might be looking through night-vision scopes (which would be capped but still usable during daylight), or they may have been handed capped binoculars which they briefly raised their eyes before realizing the caps were still in place while a photographer or two managed to snap pictures during those brief instances. I have a photo request. Does anyone have a picture of Bill Clinton when he was walking on the White House lawn with a number of military men dressed in their fatigues who were at least 6 to 12 inches shorter than him?
I'll trade you the one where Dukakis is riding in the tank.

They also pooh-pooh the VERY long list of Clinton's dead ex-friends on the Other than that a couple of questionable bits of debunking (which I agree with anyways), the rest of Snopes has been very Pro-Bush. In fact, its one of the better sources of anti-Bush debunking material..

Dukaka is now going to advise Kerry on winning the nomination.

What?! Clinton's taller than all of our men in uniform? Hard to believe.

Actually, I can't help you with your specific request, but I did do a google image search on 'clinton troops' and in almost EVERY single picture, the scumbag was taller than all the men around him. What a petty little twerp. (I even found a picture of Chelsea with the troops, and she was the tallest one in the pic, lol!)

Yours is better than mine. Although, mine has the goofier smile.
