Actor and left-wing activist Ed Asner put his blame America first views and contempt for President Bush on full display Friday on CNN.
Asner mocked the idea that Iraq poses any nuclear threat, suggesting "they?d have to borrow atomic bombs from Israel," maintained the U.S. is no "moral authority," charged that Bush's policy is motivated by "a strong streak of racism? since "our whole history in regime change has been of people of different color," blamed the U.S. for "the starvation of Cuba," and when Silver said "I thank God that the President has the clarity and the vision" to protect us, Asner laughed derisively.

So, Ed Asner knows the details of Iraq's WMD program. He should forward a report to Hans Blix.
Asner has to rate has one of the biggest idiots in Hollywood, and it takes a lot to make the top of that list.
Ah, I see Acclaimed Nuclear Weapons Expert Ed Asner has weighed in with his deep technical background in weapons technology and proliferation.
Yep, that's him. Has he done anything of any significance since then? (Besides his leftist babblings, I mean.)
He played Lou Grant, that gruff but lovable news editor.
Hey ED: Spanish American War was about people "of a different color?"
World War One was about "people of a different color?"
World War Two against Nazi Germany was about "people of a different color?"
Prepare for a series of shockers like this.
After the last election a number of leftists (Asner presumably included) decided they lost because they didn't disagree with Bush loudly enough on a whole host of issues, including the War on Terror. They think they need to draw a stronger distinction between themselves and Bush on this, so they're literally taking the side of Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein against that of George Bush.
The effect is going to be to drive those Democrats who are not anti-American into the Republican camp. They may not go as far as joining the Republican Party, but a vocal "Democrats for Bush" faction might be created.
The already teetering Democratic Party coalition is going to see an open rift over this issue unless the Democrats can produce a strong and credible presidential candidate who can successfully bury it, and bring party loudmouths like Asner into line. Right now, that looks unlikely.
Wow, I just read the article. Maybe some of the Jewish Hollywood left is beginning to see the light. I now retract my total annoyance at this fellow (Silver). I may not agree with him on much, but the fact that he can go against the liberal grain in Hollywood shows me something that I can respect in him.
Yes, that bad man Hitler, wasn't he Ethiopian? And Mussolini, I think he was Eskimo. Not to mention the Kaiser. That Asner blames America first on false grounds is most revealing about his own agenda. Incidentally, Hussein isn't exactly ebony-colored.
