Amazon sales and retail sales are different beasts. Amazon will list practically anything, and it sells according to directed buyers, not store browsers. A national retail presence will get books sold, no matter what, even if the author is Al Gore. His book will sell.

Just in case Al is lonely there at 1,000+, one day soon he'll be meeting up with ole Nicollo's automotive and social history of the limousine:

Stretching It: The Story of the Limousine
# Amazon.com Sales Rank: 768,767

Maybe we'll meet half way?

I rushed out and bought my copy then rushed over the Antique Road Show. The expert told me that it was a "very rare book by a little known Vice President from the late 20th century" and that "despite its extrodinary rarity that it was still worthless."

People would expect to find a centerfold in BJ Clinton's book. Wouldn't the whole thing read like a letter to Penthouse Forum?

I was working in my office late one night and order up a pizza when this curvey young intern (still in college!) gives me a flash of her thong!...

And the next thing I know, I'm looking at the sink...

Anytime that Earth In The Balance is displayed, there should be a copy of the Unabomber Manifesto right next to it.

The corporations that paid billandhill for their memoirs don't care if the books never ever sell. They were bribes for legiglative consideration and nothing more.

Viacommie gave Hillary $8million after she was elected but before she was sworn in (avoiding a conflict of interest) for a book that has yet to materialize (and people got in a stink about Newt's book which did see print).

Viacommie owns CBS, MTV, VH1, Nickelodean...

"Al needs to pull a Jim Wright maneuver: personally purchase about 100,000 copies, and distribute them at Democrat meetings..."

No, I think that the Unions (especially the Teamsters) bought those 100,000 copies of Wright's miserable cut-and-pasted "book".

I don't think I'll be buying anything by "Loser" Gore anytime soon.

I totally agree! Thankfully, I have read neither, but people who have remark on the striking similarities of lunacy. . .

FLOP! should be Al's new nickname... Since Gore is renouncing his having supported the first Gulf War, I'm sure he wants to retire "Prime-Time Al", so let's replace it with FLOP!

Flop needs a first name though. How about Flip?

People actually expected Viacom owned CBS to shout foul at Hillary?

How come liberal books sell so poorly and how come conservative books consistently top the bestseller list?

How come liberal radio talk shows exist only on public radio and conservative radio talk shows reach millions of people daily on commercial radio stations?

How come upstart FoxNews is already topping liberal CNN in the ratings even though FoxNews is only penetrating about 60% of American homes?

How come conservative websites like Free Republic thrive on private donations while liberal websites like Salon.com are dying on the vine despite millions of dollars of (liberal) venture capital money being thrown at it?

Those are all rhetorical questions, by the way.

Ted Kazenski had a copy of Algore's book in his shack. We heard all about the horrible right wing fiction that Timothy McVeigh had read. Why aren't more people aware of Albert Gore Junior's link to the Unabomber?

I went to Barnes and Noble website, and of course they had both books "in the spotlight", or something like that.

Although Joined at the Heart came in better at 304, Spirit of the Family came in ranked 4628.

Out of curiosity I looked up Sean Hannitys book and after how many months on the market it still beats them both in a landslide-117-

I am sure AlGore will ask for a recount, but for now it looks like he is once again the SORELOSERMAN

Question: Did Algore get millions of dollars in advance to write the book, like Hillary?

Scratch and sniff may work too.

What would you put in the micro capsules, eu du flop house, concentrated Chinese "night soil", or odor of unwashed camel?

I went to the "The Spirit of Family" link at Amazon. Near the bottom of the page ther is a hotlink to "Great Gifts For Democrats:". I couldn't believe these suggestions;

"Earth in the Balance: Ecology and the Human Spirit" by Albert Gore

"Capital: A Critique of Political Economy" (Penguin Classics)by Karl Marx

"The Communist Manifesto" by Karl Marx

"Politics For Dummies"

Plus some other minor titles. You can't make this stuff up.
