PORTLAND, Maine (AP) Catholic Charities Maine may have found a way to provide domestic partner benefits to its employees without violating church doctrine against unmarried couples living together, premarital sex and homosexuality.

The move would allow the social service agency to receive an $85,000 federal grant that's been blocked by the city since July. A city ordinance requires agencies that receive federal housing and community development funds through the city to offer domestic partners the same benefits available to spouses.

The vice here is obvious: government grants to what should be charities. The "faith-based initiative" idea will increase the corruption. It's a bad idea.

This article just did me in for the morning. I'm so sick of this agenda. What will it be next? Let's pay the pet gerbil, too? Oh wait, maybe *they* should be married first, and THEN the payout will be okay?

Ah, the Church selling its soul for silver. Nice to see there's at least one institution that stands on its principles. It's also a clear demonstration that money from the government is drawn against Satan's account.

But hey, the end justifies the means.

Exactly. Money over principle. Hippocritical do-gooders. All the corruption that money can buy.

Remember this is ME you are talking about who of the unitarian's, ranger killers, baldi and his mama, anguish king, who is lootiung the treasury and running away.

This is the west coast version of CA, the only difference it is very louse about gun laws, but the times they are a changing.

Also Portlamd is a Bed room community of Boston, with the train connection only two hours away.

This does not make any sense, business wise. Paying the medical costs of one aids patient will chew up $85,000 in a heartbeat....

The real crime is that any private organization is eligible to take my money, without me donating it. Everything else just adds insult to obscenity.
