Little Headway In War On Japan
Transterrestrial Musings ^ | November 15, 2002 | Rand Simberg

Washington DC -- January 14, 1943 (Routers)

The OSS and military intelligence came under renewed attack in Congress today for failing to find Admiral Yamamoto, with the increasing certainty that he is still alive prompting senior Republican senators to brand the effort to dismantle the Japanese military as a failure.

A leading Republican senator charged that the Roosevelt administration had been distracted from the fight against Japan by the invasion of Northern Africa last month.

"They are so focused on Tunisia that they aren't paying adequate attention to the war on Japan," he said in an interview.

He said that American intelligence agencies had failed to determine the extent of the Japanese threat even as the country prepared for war on the other side of the globe. Island lookouts have been seeing increasing Japanese naval activity, indicating an imminent threat to US forces.

"Just because we destroyed much of their force at the Battle of Midway last June doesn't mean that we've taken them out of action, and we still don't have positive proof that we got Yamamoto. The Japanese continue to reconstitute and rebuild in their home islands."

If Admiral Yamamoto is alive, he suggested, then the threat to the United States has increased. "If he is still alive and still in charge, that means the Japanese navy continues to have a highly capable and venomous leader."

"We can't find Yamamato, the mastermind of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and we haven't made real progress in destroying key elements of the Japanese army or their infrastructure. They continue to conquer territory, and to be as great a threat today as they were a year and a half ago. So by what measure can we claim to be successful so far?"

Admiral Yamamoto was the WORST admiral the Japanesse had.

Think Pearl Harbor, and especially Midway.

Why make a simple battle plan, when you can make it complex (i.e., Midway).

And bin Laden was (is?) brilliant?

I've seen little evidence of it. September 11 was a momentary tactical success, and a strategic disaster for him.

As I posted on a thread earlier this week in response to the "Osama bin Laden" tape:

How can we go after Hitler and Il Duce when we haven't even gotten Tojo yet?

I caught a little of Rush today and he mentioned that it took us 4 years to get Hitler and even then we never saw a body.

Rush also commented how it took 2 years to get Hillary's Rose Law Firm billing records and those were in this country!

The Democrats may have shown an overzealous move at securing safety in interning Japanese in America but there was restraint shown to the Japanese people by permitting the emperor to live rather than being treated as a war criminal.

Your statement about Yamamoto indicates that you are as ignorant about history as you are about politics.

By the way, you promised not to post anymore, and your butt-boys and girls got their collective butts kicked...again.

Good thing that the Soviet Union collapsed and that the radical muslims have done their part to irritate the Russians and the Chinese as well. Otherwise, the dedicated plotters of AQ might actually be able to get access to some really dangerous resources.

The Chinese may have applauded the WTC attacks but I don't see them ready to give AQ assistance.

Not as bad as your butt-boys and girls got kicked in 2000 (i.e., Reps lost 5 Senate seats amd 2 House seats, and lost the POPULAR vote for the presidency).

LOL! We weren't ready for your voter fraud in 2000...in 2002 we were.

Pretty pathetic rejoiner, but then, you always have been pretty pathetic.

Oh - now I understand why the Reps lost 5 Senate seats and Bush the popular vote in 2000.

ROTFLMAO

Bush and Albert were within 0.51% of each other in the popular vote. This figure is well within the margin of error yet "automatic recounts" don't hold to a national level (many states' electoral votes weren't in races close enough to be in contention).

Do you deny that there was fraud in the 2000 election? Do some research and get back on topic.

You said you were going to stop posting. So, stop posting, particularly when you make insensitive comments approving of voting fraud. You are morally bankrupt, just like your party. Voting is one of the most sacred of rights, and when you state your approval of the violation of this right by the Democrat Party, you forfeit any and all credibility on this forum or anywhere else.

I suggest you swish your way over to DU, where the rest of the "I'm in total denial" crowd is commiserating.

Of course there was - that is why Bush won the electoral vote.

Do some research and get back on topic.

Voting is one of the most sacred of rights, and when you state your approval of the violation of this right by the Republican Party (i.e., Florida 2000 presidential vote), you forfeit any and all credibility on this forum or anywhere else.
