I don't understand the point of your last post. Obviously the reenactors know the Klan uses their flag; they don't like it, so they're protesting. What's the problem with that?

This is a good thing. These re-enactors need to make it clear that they are interested in the HISTORICAL value of such re-enactions. They need to reject all the political reasons for the secession of the slave-holding states, and particularly the forces of reaction once the rebellion was put down.

The military history is fascinating, even if the political history stinks.

The point of his post is that Wlat is a troll. In fact, he goes beyond mere trolling. His series of posts is more like chumming. That's a fishing technique in which you ladle out buckets of smelly fish guts behind the boat, to attract sharks. Think of Wlat's posts as a bucket of smelly, half rotten fish entrails. Ignore them. Once the Klan was a big, powerful, dangerous movement. One might even call them terrorists. They actually controlled politics in some states and not just is the south either. That was in the 1920's and early 1930's.

In those years the flag they usually waved was the Stars and Stripes. Which proves nothing about me and mine displaying it.
