Christopher Ruddy, writing in NewsMax.com on the day after the election, explained the negative effect that Bill Clinton and his crowd had on the election.
Bill Clinton has disappeared from the TV screens this morning. He is nowhere to be seen. Why?
Clinton, just days ago, was all over the place. Never had a former president acted as the antithesis to a sitting president by making a national campaign swing for Democrats.
Never had a former president, and his wife, played such a controlling role in their party after they left the White House.
During this election we discovered, without any doubt, that the Clintons control the Democratic National Committee. They handpicked Terry McAuliffe to head the DNC. Their hand was noticeable in almost every key race around the nation.
But on Tuesday, America rebuked the Clintons and the Democratic Party.
This may be the reason, more than any other, the American people have given Republicans the rare opportunity of controlling both Congress and the White House.
In one word, the main reason the Democrats suffered defeat: Clinton. The party seems hopelessly in the grips of the left-wing, disreputable Clintons and their minions.
Chris Matthews recently noted Bill Clintons influence in the Democratic party, and said he was acting like ''Boss Tweed.'' We know that Bill and Hillary continue to control the DNC through their handpicked chairman, Terry McAuliffe.
And, Bill Clintons dominance in the party became transparent as election day neared. In fact, Clintons hand was almost everywhere: New Jersey, New York, Minnesota, Florida.
He was also deciding where and how much the DNC would spend on behalf of specific candidates.
Though the Clintons engineered Carl McCalls nomination for governor in New York, Clinton later told McCall he couldnt have national DNC funds for his race.
In Florida, the Clintons and McAuliffe made defeating Jeb Bush their highest priority. Not only did millions flow in from Democrat coffers, but this past weekend the Democrats brought into the state their supposed ''big gun,'' Bill Clinton.
Up until Clintons visit, McBride had been gaining in the polls, had momentum on his side, and was within striking distance of defeating Jeb Bush.
Then Clinton arrived. He and Janet Reno appeared with McBride on a Miami stage to rally the vote.
Clinton gave McBride the kiss of death.
Clearly, the Clintons have done this with the Democrats nationally as well.
In fact, a Fox News poll found that a majority of Americans blame 9/11 on Clinton, not Bush. It was Clinton who decimated Americas national security infrastructure, making America vulnerable to attack.
The Democrats have also tried to pin the recession on Bush . But thinking Americans know that Bush inherited the recession from Clinton.
President Bush has been the perfect foil for Clinton. Bush has integrity. America is tired of the Clintons and wants them put in the attic. And so do many Democrats.
Soon after Al Gore lost the race in 2000, he met with Clinton in the Oval Office.
According to the Washington Post, the meeting was anything but amicable. Gore explained to Clinton that with a strong economy and America at peace, he lost to Bush because of Clintons scandals.
Gore and other Democrats, if they want power again, need to have that discussion again. They need to have an exorcism and free the party of the Bill-Hillary-Carville-McAuliffe-Begala gang. The Democrats needs to cut the sleaze.
The Democrats need to turn to new leaders, people like Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller, if the party wants to ever be back in power.
...and Zell is, for all intents and puposes, a Republican. The Pelosi wing of the party isn't going to give this statement much credibility...further evidence that it is right, correct I mean. :{)
It's no only the Clinton's. Most of the D party is just like the Clintons.

NO MORE LIES, HATRED, CORRUPTION AND EMBARRASMENT!!!
LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO PARTIES AND IT IS A NO-BRAINER AS TO WHY THE DNC LOST!
THE DIFFERENCE IS APPARENT...THE RNC HAS CLASS AND MORALS AND AN AGENDA THE MAJORITY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT. THE DNC ARE A BUNCH OF CHILDISH, WHINY LOSERS, THAT DO NOTHING BUT BASH OTHERS ON THEIR WEB PAGE!
You got it, Jim.
The entire election can be summarized in two words:
America vomited!
She feels much better now. It was something she swallowed and shouldn't have. It won't happen again.
Now that she's got that poison out of her system, she's going to be just fine.
PLEEEEZE, dimocrats.... CLING forever unto Bubba & the Beast... conservatives will thank you for it!
Clinton is a national joke and is treated like a clown ...... When he showed up in Florida on his rescue mission, reportedly a young woman announced loudly to everyone present "I'd be happy to give Bill a Monica!"
The DemonRATS just don't understand.
No, no! Sign 'em up as "journalists" one and all on the alphabet networks.
I remember how the Democrats, with the help of the liberal media tried to make that phrase stick on Reagan. Even then, the Democrats were projecting.
The plan is to now bury Ford, screw the racial crap again, they aren't watching. And we will simply deny it all later.
Hail Leftist.
The Clintons will lay low for a while until the negative comments die down and are forgotten (like after the Marc Rich pardon and earlier PR disasters)...they still have their hold on the party. If Hillary doesn't choose to run in 2004, she and Bill can do a lot to determine who will be the nominee. Hillary would want a Mondale or Dukakis type to be nominated, to be sure that there is no incumbent Democrat in 2008.
If Hillary does run in 2004, she needs one or two lackluster candidates to run against in the primaries, to create the persona of a winner...and then find someone to play the Ross Perot role and run as a third party candidate. I don't think she could ever get close to 50% of the popular vote, but she might be able to manage the 42 or 43% needed in a three-way race.
That's memorable.
As for "new and better candidates," the Dems will never choose Zell Miller. He's a conservative, for Pete's sake. And as for Joe Lieberman, he sold his soul once to Clinton (him) on impeachment. Then he sold it again to Al Gore for a chance to play second banana to a second banana.
The simple fact is the Dems don't have any candidates left who can even give the appearance of being both intelligent and honest. It's a bad time to be a Democrat. (An especially bad time to be a former Republican who know holes up with the Dems. Has anyone seen Jeffords, lately?)
