Law enforcement officials are looking into a possible link between an unsolved Denton County slaying and the Washington-area, sniper suspects.
Billy Gene Dillon, 37, was shot in the head May 27 while doing lawn work on Blagg Road. Investigators had said at the time they believed he had been killed with a high-velocity rifle at short range. The death was ruled a homicide, but no leads surfaced.
Denton County sheriff's spokesman Kevin Patton said Friday that investigators last week sent handed over bullet fragments from Mr. Dillon's death to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms for comparisons with bullets fired from the alleged snipers' rifle. He said he did not know how long it would take to get the results.

And there are those out there who continue to say that the death penalty should be abolished.
May I remind you all of Willie Horton....condemned to death. overturned by the US supremes to life in prison w/out parole. given weekend passes by Michael Dukakis......on a weekend pass raped and murdered......

I don't think that these two should be allowed to live out the rest of this year.

I hope the jailhouse workers are spitting in the food and otherwise making life as miserable as possible for these two scumbag murders. I never was big on the death penalty but if either of these two are allowed to escape the death penalty, it would be a tragedy. If that happens, I say throw them into the general population and tell the other inmates they will be looking the other way. Justice will be served within 24 hours.

Could you put the state in the title? Not everyone knows where Denton County is. I'm guessing its near Dallas as that's the name of the newspaper.

It is one county north of Dallas County, Texas. Denton, the county seat, is about 30 miles north of Dallas.

Denton is about 40 miles NorthEast of Arlington, home of this man:
Wadih el Hage
A resident of Arlington, Texas, el Hage once served as the personal secretary for Osama bin Laden and lived in Sudan until 1994. He moved to Kenya before returning to the United States in 1997.
El Hage has been charged with making false statements to the FBI in connection with the U.S. Embassy bombing in Kenya. Prosecutors now allege that he bought guns for a man convicted for transporting chemicals used in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. He also allegedly lied to the FBI about knowing another suspect already in custody, Mohamed Saddiq Odeh. El Hage pleaded not guilty in federal district court in Manhattan to 11 counts of lying in connection with the bin Laden investigation.

Agree! Hang em sooner rather than later. Target practice on innocent people working and living their lives for the betterment of society and then these two played executioner.
To: PianoMan
And they conveniently neglect to remind everyone that it was Albore who brought Willie Horton to the attention of the country during primary.
To: TexKat
Notice that El Hage was a gun supplier to the troops in the field. Denton side trip to try out a new gun?

I saw this article on the DMN a little bit ago, and thought about you. I didn't know it was posted on FR tho. I doubt anything will come out of this murder as far as being linked to the snipers. I guess they are chasing any possible lead since they don't seem to hardly any clues to solving this....
Just wear your bullet proof vest, lol ! :O)

May 27th, do we know where Muhammad and Malvo were at that time? When did those tanker explosions in TX that people have speculated they might have been connected with take place?
To: aristeides
When were they in Arizona? I believe they're linked to a shooting on a golf course in Tucson.
