If Bush wants, he can ensure that the liberal Kerry gets the nod by pushing ANWR and forcing a Kerry filibuster. That will also ensure that the union vote goes to Bush, and probably it will also bring out the conservative base to vote against a Taxachusetts left-winger.

"If she becomes VP, the head guy needs to wear body armor 24/7 and hire a food taster."

There isn't a dem that would accept her as his/her veep...just for that reason. The klintons are too closely associated with death!

The guy is spends his day watching paint peel. He is a blue-blood moron who does not have a clue.

He wants windmills, electric cars and prefers an SUV.

So far, he is low on the horizon. He speaks as if he's in a stupor.

Heinz-Kerry will need a lot of work to be pimped by the DNC. He has bags under his eyes that can carry a pair of shoes!

I've believed for the last year that Kerry would be the nominee. He should not be taken lightly. Yes, he is liberal, but so was x42. He will be the favorite of the media (another 60s child). The good news is that if he really thinks he can win by locking up the northern tier of states, then we have the advantage. I would rather be in the position of locking up the South early and competing for states we didn't win in 2000 than the other way around. A dumb assumption on his part IMHO. If anything will undo Kerry, it will be arrogance.

I hope for Gore too. Kerry should not be underestimated. He will not make the same mistakes as Dukakis.

...the vacuous boob from North Carolina, John Edwards

One of the better descriptions I have read of our clueless senator, who in his 1998 campaign promised voters that he would vote just like Jesse Helms.

NC voters this year got the same kind of message from Irksome Bowles, who promised to uphold North Carolina values. Yeah, right,

A Massachusetts Liberal for President and a California Sourpuss for House Minority Leader and Daschle for Senate Minority Leader. Heh heh.

Good for several reasons. 1) He'll push the Libs further into oblivion. 2) Mass has a GOP Governor who will appoint his successor in the Senate! Yea!!

He will run in the primary as a moderate

The he won't win their nomination. The loony left are going to be fired up to put a lefty on the ticket (see Harold Ford versus Pelosi). They are all going crazy thinking that the reason they lost this midterm is because they were not waving Red Flags.

The pressure for him to stay and not run will be intense if the Democrats have any sense. Oh, never mind.

You have to understand; that's what Edwards had to say in order to get elected. Once elected, he could do anything he wanted, generally quite liberal, and at variance with what he said he was in favor of during the election. Edwards made large sums of money as a plaintiff's lawyer; suing manufacturers and probably pocketing at least one-third of the proceeds (in some states, they can take one-half). From what I've seen and heard of Edwards, he is a thoroughly mediocre man of middling intelligence. On these points, whether you disagree with Kerry (and I do), Edwards is at great variance from him.

Kerry's a soft talker, but he's not a "likeable" man. I think voters who aren't paying much attention to politics will be turned off by him simply because he's not "likeable."

Maybe you're right, but I don't believe he is well-liked by his fellow Dems. He comes across as arrogant, and I can't imagine why; he may be smart, but he's ugly and completely without personality and charisma.

This is a good way to be found lying uphill in a park, naked, a Rose Law Firm paperweight stuffed up his nose, and with a .50 BMG lying next to him...

Are you talking about John Kerry or Robert Kerrey? Or, were they both Seals? IIRC, Kerrey is the one who got in a tight spot; Kerry is the one who came back and demonstrated against the war.
