So basically Libertarians brought 2 anti-gun governors, and possibly kept Daschle's clone in power. My question is why Libertarians run against good pro-gun candidates? I realize that there are other issues besides guns. Meanwhile people of Wisconsin have to wait another 4 years for gun licenses...
Old Jefferson needed to be tweaked because he is too full of himself and appears to lack a sense of humor. If you want to hate me for that, I'm all yours.
What school choice?
Or is more of a case where people go in to vote, mostly on LOCAL issues etc, and don't like EITHER the Dem or Repub candidate and vote for the Libertarian in order to send a message??
Besides...if the Republican Party in those states cannot get our ALL of their Registered party members...(in which case they would have won easily)....why insist on blaming someone else???
redrock
I won't hate you because you don't know what you are talking about.
Please don't hate me because I am beautiful.
I don't believe the Feds should be handling the schools, though.
As you know votes are private, so the poof you seek will be elusive...
However, as this forum points out, there are many libertarians willing to settle for a LIBERAL democrat over a moderate/conservative/rino Republican. How this advances the libertarian cause is beyond me.
For a moment I thought you might be also after you threatened me, but you seem to have calmed down now after the Prozak took hold.
Now that you are calmed down, tell me again why you felt compelled to tell lies about libertarians? Do you have "Hillary" illness? (The overwhelming compulsion to tell lies about your opponents)
Just curious. I hope this doesn't push you over the edge again into another violent frenzy.
:-)
My point is that Libertarian voters are not typically focused on a single issue like a right to life voter. There's a range of issues for most Libertarians. Maybe there's Liberatarian voters who think it's absolutely imperative that we legalize all drugs, and everything else is of secondary importance, but I think they're the exception. In general, I don't think any one issue assumes the same importance in their minds as abortion does for a right to life voter. So it becomes a question of do you get your way on some of them or hold out for every one of them? The ones holding out for every one of them are not moving things in their direction, they're doing the opposite. The fact is that the entire Libertarian agenda is never going to be implemented. There's these Libertarians who actually believe it is.
I totally disagree that the two parties are indistinguishable though that can be true for certain candidates.
The only ones I see advocating free drugs around here are Republicans. You may have heard of free prescription drugs for seniors?
FREE?! Yeah right! Only after the extort money from me and every other taxpayer/extortion victim so they can buy the drugs they intend to give freely to seniors.
This is what the LP called being "principled"...for them, if voting for the LP canidate [sic] ends up electing a democrat, so what!
This is what the LP called being "principled"...for them, if voting for the LP candidate ends up electing a republican, so what! BTW, I'm not a Libertarian.
You're a real hoot!
I'm here. Look me up. Anything you want to know about my positions and about the philosophy of non violent persuasion vs coersion and violence (force) as it applies to our system of governance will be repectfully addressed as long as you are genuinely interested in the answers.
Best I remember, we were supposed to vote for Rs so we could apoint judges that would overturn RoevWade.
As a matter of fact, most libertarians I know are opposed to abusing drugs. They also oppose the WOD because they are consistent in their philosophy that human beings own themselves and that there is no LEGITIMATE power existing among men that allows force to be used against people who are not violating another persons rights just because people find their practices objectionable.
They believe that the legitimate role of government in a free society is to defend the rights of it's citizens. That is why they oppose the WOD. On principle, a dirty word around most Republicans on this forum.
Of course there is the slight matter of fact that the drug war doesn't work, but that is a different matter.
Okay, here's the answer, and you are not going to like it.
The GOP and MR. Tommy Thompson, after 16 years left the State of WI in a terrible mess. Higher taxes, bigger governmnet, more fees, and a lot less results.I won't evn get into a 3 BILLIONDollar deficit.
Scott McCallum was a weak candidate with an even weaker message. He was running against a socialist, who has enough baggage to sink a steam ship. Mr. McCallum managed to lose the momentum of the Tommy Thompson years, have normal GOP voters not show up, convince others to vote Libertarian, and get the dems to have a great turn out.
Yep, you're right, the blame falls squarely on the Libertarians and Ed Thompson.
Do a little checking, is your property tax bill larger or smaller than it was ten years ago.
Is your state government payroll larger or smaller?
Are the various fees you pay larger or smaller?
How does WI rank in comparison to any and all other states as to taxes/services rendered?
PS:If concealed carry is such a big issue to you, carry it concealed, no one will know.
I carry and have since it was still legal. Now it ain't, but I still do.
