OAK BROOK, Ill. (Reuters) - Fast-food giant McDonald's Corp. MCD.N , said on Friday that it would close about 175 restaurants worldwide and will miss its 2002 earnings estimate as it continues to struggle with underperforming sales in the U.S. amid stiff competition in the fast-food business.
The company said it will cut 400 to 600 jobs. The actions will reduce fourth-quarter earnings by $350 million to $425 million, the company said.

We have Subway out here, along with Quizno's... Quizno's is very good but I hate the Subway food. Every sub sandwich at Subway tastes the same. You want a seafood sub? Guess what it tastes the same as a roast beef sub except with the slight undertaste of fake seafood.

Excuse me? Restaurants? I thought a restaurant was a place to buy prepared food. What connection that has to a McDogBarf's eludes me...

As I understand it, McDonalds is going to follow Silicon Valley's lead. Instead of going to a McDonalds location, you enter your order over the Internet to McDonalds new food factory in China - or to India, if you order the veggieburger. They will Fedex you your order by the next business day.

With nobody in line in front of me, it took 15 minutes to prepare the lukewarm-to-cold gravy/biscuit. The jungle music was so loud, I had to take it to my car to finish it. Gross.Whats the matter, you don't like weird, blasting jungle music while your eating? LOL!

This is so true, but even the fries, which were once edible are much less so.
Still, one aspect that has been discussed too little here is the continuing support that that corporation has given to the Clintons and their ilk, not to mention "Planned Parenthood."
How a pro-lifer can eat a "Mc-anything" is beyond me.

Actually, their new Mcgriddle with sausage is fairly decent, just get an extra thing of syrup. It's handheld pancakes and sausage.

Interesting, how a company like that can be liberal is beyond me, don't they realise the libs would like to see them serving nothing but soy based products?

If you're going to eat food that is this bad for you, it should at least taste good. McDonald's simply doesn't anymore.
The last time I got food there, the fries were so bad I just threw them out. (Their fries used to be one of their hallmarks.)

She just sniffed it and turned around and laid down. LOL! Get that on video and maybe Burger King will buy it for a commercial.

...like weird, blasting jungle music while your eating? No, I really don't. It's not natural. Meal time should be a break from the noise around us.
McD's choise of music makes me feel like I'm being subjected to a combination of 1984 mind control and in-your-face leftwing culture.

"PETA is infiltrating even MickyD's!"I had heard that the golden arches were going to try and corner the gay market.
They will be deep frying a pickle dipped in batter. McDilldough

We once threw down half a hamburger from MacDonalds to my German Shepherd. She just sniffed it and turned around and laid down. Your dog has class and refined tastes. My wife has a female dog which is a four-legged garbage disposal. It will eat anything.

I haven't heard that , but I can say at least in Calif., there is a "Drive-Thru" Tax on your order when you drive through McDonalds throughout L.A. The next time anyone drive's through a McDonalds, check the bottom of your receipt,I wish I was kidding, I didn't notice until summer of 2000 myself,I mean, who looks at the receipt in the car?

Drive-thru tax? That's new to me. People in different cities that did not know each other have told me about encounting the sit-down tax.
Talk about generating bad P.R. Drive-thru taxes, sit down taxes. You'd think McDonald's was taken over by Democrats!
