Rick Kahn, the Democrat lawyer whose foaming-at-the-mouth speech at that partisan "memorial service" for Sen. Paul Wellstone helped defeat Senate wannabe Walter Mondale, is making himself mighty scarce these days.
Kahn "has largely disappeared," the pro-Democrat Minneapolis Star Tribune marveled today.
"Before the election and again Wednesday, Kahn did not return reporters' phone calls and said through friends and family members that he did not want to talk. Nobody responded Wednesday to knocks on the door of his Minnetonka house, where Kahn works from a home office."
Newsweek was able to track him down Tuesday night. He admitted to the magazine that he regretted the speech "and, worse, fears he may have lost the race he set out to revive."
Kahn implored, "All I hope is that people would find it in their heart to understand and forgive me."
Rest easy, Rick. No doubt Sen.-elect Norm Coleman forgives you. Just don't rent any airplanes from Democrats.

What a scumbag. I love seeing the trash get beat.
I get the most enjoyment out of Republican wins when I see the other sode weep and wail.
You're damn right, I'm the sorest winner you've ever met.

Forgive you? It wasn't your fault....It was all the idea of the Wellstone boys! Right? Uh...

Rick Kahn, by himself, did more than anyone else to help the Republicans gain control of the Senate. He should be recognized for his accomplishment. The Senate should recognize him for his work toward changing their make up for the next two years at least.

IMHO this is THE MAN responsible for democrat candidate defeat nation-wide. His actions were like an epiphony for many democratic voters with a conscience. This guy was like a collective mirror of all that is wrong with rats. The rats were forced to gaze at themselves through this man and the event. The public could not stomach what was in the mirror.

They are piling on Kahn, but it was clear the gathering was disgusting long before Kahn's speech. From the beginning there was cheering at the grand entrances of the Clintons and other bigwigs, who set the tone that they were not there to pay their respiects to the dead. The boos, too, came at the beginning.
The big celebrities were giddy, so it is strange they have picked out Kahn, a local guy, to be the goat.

ROTFLMBO!
BTW, Measure 23 (Universal Health Care in Oregon) went down in flames (20%-80%). Whew!

Rick Kahn, by himself, did more than anyone else..
You're right that he was the ink,... but he is by no means a solo act.
Unfortunately, what he displayed is typical.
You can pretty much paint all these liberals with the same brush.
The death 'rally' just showed their true palette.

I forgive him. In fact, I love this guy. Thanks, Rick.

"All I hope is that people would find it in their heart to understand and forgive me." Forgive him??? How do we thank him?

I thought the curly haired Welstone son was equally frightning.
If people like this were in power would our lives be worth 5 cents?

"This guy was like a collective mirror of all that is wrong with rats. " They still don't see it. The liberals websites have about 70% saying they need fighters like this guy and the need to move even further left. The don't understand that seeing the hateful ugly face of liberalism would make the VAST majority of Americans convulse in disgust. The liberal dream I see posted on their websites is founded in petty envy of others and hatred of the USA.

At least he admits he was supremely stupid. My advice is get life outside of the RAT org. To stop playing the RAT game of demonizing and trying to trash the conservative cause.

20% of Oregon's voters are complete morons with out a lick of fiscal knowledge. Do they think the government can just print money to pay for a program like that. Geeez they must smoke some potent stuff up there.

I like the post I read on another thread about somebody else perceived to be at fault for the Dems meltdown. It went something like, "I wouldn't take any airplane flights if I were you. Hillary is the mechanic servicing your airplane"

Newsweek was able to track him down Tuesday night. He admitted to the magazine that he regretted the speech "and, worse, fears he may have lost the race he set out to revive." Don't sell yourself short, Rick. You lost the entire United States Senate for your party.
