AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) Dutch police have arrested a Muslim man suspected of preparing a suicide attack, officials said Thursday.
The prosecutor's office said only that the 22-year-old man is a Muslim of Moroccan ancestry, but did not release his name.
He recorded a farewell message to his family on an audio cassette and was "presumably recruited and prepared to be sent out to die in international 'jihad,' or armed struggle against 'enemies of Islam,'" according to a statement by prosecutors.
A second man was detained but later released, it said.
The two were picked up in the southern city of Eindhoven on Monday. Spokesman Wim de Bruin said they were taken into custody as part of a series of detentions in the Netherlands in the past year.
In April, a group of four Algerians was arrested in Eindhoven and a small town nearby. The prosecutor said they were indirectly involved in the assassination of the former leader of Afghanistan's anti-Taliban alliance, Ahmed Shah Massood, shortly before the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
A second group of six men was arrested in a nationwide sweep in September on suspicion of being part of a recruiting cell for al-Qaida.
De Bruin said Thursday the prosecutor's office believes the two groups and the man arrested Monday were all connected, and there may be more arrests.
He said they may also have been involved with the recruitment of two young men from Eindhoven of Moroccan ancestry who died in an apparent suicide attack on Indian forces in Kashmir last December.

Is there a mosque in Eindhoven that's inspiring this stuff?
To: knighthawk
Deport all the muslim terrorists!
To: aristeides
The two Moroccan guys there were shot in Kashmir attended the mosque in Woensel. There the fundamental youth-imam Van de Ven (a Dutch guy who went islam) also comes there.
There also is a large mosque in the center of Eindhoven, complete with towers and so on.

Dutch police have arrested a Muslim man suspected of preparing a suicide attack...
Islamic terrorists...if they didn't create inhuman carnage, they'd be so
boring due to their predictability.
Anyway, well done, Dutch police. And keep up the good work.

At your service!

Excellent, there have been a number of arrests here and in Asia recently. Do the pressitutes in Europe reveal the D.C. Sniper's connection to Islamic ideas? Or is it just another crazy killer African-American to them?

Knighthawk,
Do you think that the Dutch government would be interested in borrowing the unmanned spy drone that shoots rockets. It saves a lot of paperwork - no messy arrests - no babbling lawyers.

The name him as Mohammed, so they do not hide his background.

Okay, but I get to fly the thing.

Thank God they got this guy. I wonder how many more there are out there in the Netherlands just waiting before they attack.
