Just voted straight R in a small town near Johnstown, PA (Out of approx. 100 voters, I think there is only one registered Pubbie besides me.).

As of 9:00 a.m., I was voter #6 out of about 100. My sister in law is working the election, so I'll ask her tonight about turnout.

Exactly! For a Dem to actually have to read a ballot will completely screw them up. The connect the arrow thing is a little nutty though.

LOL....thanks, Dales. Here is something else I think happened with that, and maybe you could tell me if I'm right: I think by educating people about Gov Bush's actual record (and, it's OK if they don't agree with EVERY little thing), his base really understood him better. The polls always showed Gov Bush's base supported him in record numbers, like over 90% all the time.

IMO, that kind of solid support enables a candidate to go out there and spend valuable time expanding the candidate's base of support. Gov Bush spent a lot of time in the Dem communities this campaign season, and as a result, is expected to win more than 20% of the Dem voters in FL, along with a landslide win in non-Cuban Hispanic communities.

I'm not saying FR or my writings were solely responsible for the support of his base, but the bottom line is that when people attacked his record (I'm thinking of the Jack Thompson episode here on FR), enough people in his base knew otherwise and still supported Gov Bush.

McMumble, meanwhile, never really had the support of his entire base - he should have started campaigning to them long ago, in the primary season. He didn't. And, since many of his party's voters are now voting for Jeb, well, it's too late now for McMumble!

So -- an early education about the candidate's actual record really helps! :)

First time voting after bailing on the Dems - With one exception, all Republican. My U.S. Congressman, Lloyd Doggett, only had a Libertarian challenger. Chose him over Doggett. Thanks again for all of your input.

Voted at 8 a.m. in Mass. Turnout was heavy, the experts are predicting record statewide turnout for a midterm election.

Hoping against hope to put Romney over the top against Shannon "Peroxide" O'Brien- the meanest, nastiest socialist shrew this side of Hillary.

Being Mass., there weren't a lot of GOP candidates to vote for. When no Republican was available I voted Libertarian. When a dem was running unopposed I wrote my own name in. Voted "yes" on nixing the income tax and "yes" to English immersion in schools.

Doing my part to bring freedom back to the cradle of liberty!

Problem with Florida is stupid amendments (and unprepared voters). Voted last week and it took me about 3 minutes, at least 30 seconds was cartridge initialization. We also get to vote on retention of appointed judges, which could take time, unless you pick NO.

Voted 7:00 AM in NJ. Voting looked pretty heavy from the signature cards. Of the eight lines of the signature card I could see, five of them were signed. 62% Turnout by 7:00 AM is not bad, for my precinct.

We have a lot of commuters to NYC, so people vote first thing before hitting the train around here. I always feel sorry for the candidates at the train station on Election Day. Everybody there has already voted, or won't be back home in time to vote.

No...I hand-delivered ours.

And I believe it would be easier to check Ab. ballots to make sure they are not submitted by dead people.
