Share the Most Despicable Campaign Brochures

Posted on 11/01/2002 4:08:16 PM PST by Naspino

If you are like me you've been inundated with campaign brochures and if you live on the edge or inside of a Democrate wasteland like me then you've seen some very despicable things in your mailbox this year. Please share it with us here!

TOPICS: Activism/Chapters; Crime/Corruption; Editorial; Government; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: 2002; bastards; corruption; democrat; election; evil; liers; twisted
I recieved one frm the Democratic Party of Georgia today (1100 Spring Street, Ste. 710 Atlanta GA 30309). If anyone else got this and can scan it in please do. The front shows a white man with a beard and a hate with the old Georgia flag; to his right is a sign that says Sonny Perude for Governor with the old Georgia flags around it. The front is in color. On the back its in black and white. It shows a black family (their skin color was made more black to get the contrast). It says:

"If they win, we lose.

Some people don't like the fact that Georgia is moving forward; they're trying to turn us back to the bad ol' days. Thats why they're working overtime to defeat Roy Barnes.

Tuesday is your chance to stand up for a different Georgia -- one where our children have a chance at a quality education, and where people have access to economic opportunity. We must stand with those who stood with us against the hate and discrimination of Georgia's past.

Tuesday is your chance to stand up for our future. Stand up for what Georgia can be by voting for Roy Barnes and the Democratic Team.

Don't let them silence our voices again. On Tuesday, stand up for those who stand up for us. VOTE Tuesday.

"

---- Ok - first this was not sent out by any black person. It was sent out by the Democratic Party of Georgia who I'll wager are all white. Second it spits in the face of history. Georgia was Democratic before the civil war and after the civil war and hasn't had a Republican governor in 135 years. So who, the freaking hell, did all of the discrimination? If any black person sees this and votes for Barnes based upon it deserves all of the misfortunes that the Democrats have brought them in the last 135 years.

I received two different BIG glossy mailouts from Democrat Tony Sanchez here in Texas. They were nothing but mudslinging, the completely unfounded type, as near as I could tell. Considering what the job of Governor of Texas pays and that all of the power belongs to the Lt. Governor, I can't figure out why Sanchez would spend so many millions of his own money on a campaign.

This was posted on the Union Employee Bulletin Board in my plant. I wish I could scan and post, but you'll get the drift. As an owner, stuff like this makes me sick.

IF NOBODY VOTES ON ELECTION DAY, WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN?

Election Day is Tuesday, November 5. It will be your chance to make your voice heard on issues of national, state and local importance. But does it matter if you vote?

[Insert picture of “fat cat” in pin-stripe suit, smoking cigar in front of huge bag with $$ sign.]

IF WORKING PEOPLE DON’T VOTE ON ELECTION DAY;

1. The healthcare and prescription drug crisis will get worse, bankrupting more of us.
2. Congress will pass new low-wage trade deals, causing more factories to close down.
3. Politicians will balance state budgets by slashing services and the jobs of those who provide them.
4. The public schools will deteriorate further, with no tax base left to support quality education.
5. Corporate criminals will walk away unpunished.
6. More companies will steal and loot workers’ pensions and savings.
7. Legislation to repeal overtime pay will be back in front of Congress.
8. Politicians will hand out more corporate welfare to profitable companies.
9. Rich people and corporations will get more tax breaks.
10. Wall Street might bribe enough politicians to privatize and rip-off Social Security.

BUT IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY!

THERE’S A SIMPLE CHOICE ON ELECTION DAY:
SUPPORT candidates who confront the menace of corporate power.
OPPOSE candidates who take orders from big business.
GET OUT AND VOTE!

We sometimes get official-looking brochures that appear to be from the Republican Party, but endorse leftist positions on propositions. You have to dig into the fine print to find out who really sent it (usually some organization with a meaningless and euphemistic name).

I received one from the Missouri State Democratic Party today, with "assault weapons" similar (not identical) to those shown above prominantly displayed all over both inside and out. The headline on the brochure said "Jim Talent is Avidly Pro-Gun. And thats dangerous for Missouri families." And in smaller print: "Call Jim Talent - - - (phone number). Tell him to STOP trying to roll back common sense gun safety."

A very similar mailing came a couple of days ago from the Carnahan campaign.

I got a letter from Sebilius, the woman running in Kansas for the Dems for governor. She said she was a practicing Catholic and would never have an abortion and that that she wanted all the women to have the same choice as she had (??)and that she was committed to making abortion rare and blahblah blah. What garbage. Oh, and she also sent out a letter against Phill Kline (Republican running for Atty Gen)saying that he had been suspended from practicing law. Truth? No, Phill let his license lapse because he was not practicing law at the time but was in the state legislature. Suspension has meaning... that isn't what happened. bah.

I just got one tonight, compliments of Erskine Bowles. Of course that fact was in really teeny tiny print.

on the front it says:
Since 1973, The U.S. Supreme Court's Roe Vs. Wade Decision Has Protected A WOMAN"S RIGHT TO CHOOSE.

Open it up and it says:
Elizabeth Dole Wants To Overturn Roe Vs. Wade, and have the government tell women what we can and can't do with our own bodies.

It goes on with more blah blah blah. And thensays: Dole is "TOTALLY PRO-LIFE" and Endorsed by North Carolina Right-To-Life

On Tuesday, November 5th, Vote to Protect Your Right To Choose Vote AGAINST Totally Pro-Life Elizabeth Dole.

Elizabeth Dole supports a constitutional amendment to OVERTURN Roe vs. Wade and take away a woman's right to choose. Think Carefully about the choices you have now...
and the choices you might lose if Elizabeth Dole is your Senator. Then Make your choice on Tuesday, November 5th.

I ripped it into shreds, but a similar, glossy "choice" brochure arrived in the mail against Jim Gerlach (PA Congressional candidate) and in favor of his Dem opponent. Addressed to ME (the lady of the house) as though I, as a woman, would be SURE to be "pro-choice." Right. I've seen the ultrasounds of my two beautiful children at just weeks of age -- how a mother who has heard the beating of her child's heart or seen the outline of her child's limbs in utero could be pro-abort I will never know.

if the demonrats sent me a brochure with these babies prominently displayed, telling me their Republican opponent wants to make sure I can get them and own them legally... I'd vote for their opponent in a heartbeat.
