Silent Spring (hint - book titles should be underlined).

This was in a Catholic school, sixth grade - mind you.

Black Like Me written by that white guy.

Italics is correct. Underlining is for typewriters that don't have italics.

My Mother has a first addition of that book- without the jacket- so the worth of it is not that good. But She believed that crap for a long time until mosquitotos and flies started to intefere with her outdoor dinner parties. As a child my mother and father never had to deal with bugs as their neighborhoods were sprayed every March with bug killing agents.

Silent Spring! I was going to mention that one, too. But I only had to read one or two chapters in college. It really gets me riled up when people mention that book to confirm their fear for the environment these days. That book is so dated. Wasn't that whole book about DDT or some other very specific pesticide? They should make Ayn Rand required reading --to provide balance. I like what she says about the whole pesticides and environment scares --basically: since the rise in technology, people have never lived longer lives in all recorded history. Facts should speak louder than words, but unfortunately all the lefties aren't paying attention to the real world.

Hint: Now book titles are italicized rather than underlined.
