"We're overlooking the most important aspect here.
The democrats replaced the people's choice with a grandfather. If elected and later replaced what does that say to the voters?"
Rush;
Absentee ballots are being reprinted today with Mondale's name in various counties. They'll never make it back in time and the democrats plan to use this as a lawsuit if they need the votes...

What next? The National Guard at all the voting presincts? The democrats are turning us into a third world nation with the voting crap they've been pulling, especially the past ten years. Maybe they will call in Carter and his entourage to the rescue! How disgusting!

Someone, somewhere got a hold of the old Soviet handbooks, either that or they are working directly from Hillary's missing thesis.
But seriously, this stuff seems like it is getting out of control. I really don't know what is around the corner.

...this stuff seems like it is getting out of control. If it is, it's because the 'pubbies are letting it happen. Still, when shameless meets spineless, what can you expect?

A "grandfather." But wait: wasn't Ronald Reagan a grandfather? Wasn't Bob Dole a grandfather? So they should not have run -- they were too old and senile. Is that it? Whoops! It only applies to if it's someone running against US. Now I get it! (Rumsfeld should IMMEDIATELY resign or be removed from his post; he is 70).

"Just like a Republican. Brings a pillow to a gun fight!"

But seriously, this stuff seems like it is getting out of control. I really don't know what is around the corner. Think of the most corrupt city in the country. Now think of the whole country being like that. Yet we do nothing because we think we're (still) free, just like another people did.

I shave been saying this for 10 months now.
This is the rats plan for 2002.
To try and steal the election by recounts and court challenges and maybe even having the Supreme court decide the Senate where ever they lose. Because they are going to lose big time next week.

They would say about the Germans, "the Nazi's kept the trains running on time"
What will they say about us? "Well, under the Democrats the Taco Bells were still open around the clock?"

Some one said, "Mondale is old and senile." I replied "He was in 1984 but he has gone down hill a lot since then."

shave= have
Truth = truth
how do we win? We will win. When the rats try and steal it we expose them and slam em. Right back in their faces with their exposed attempt at stealing the election where ever it will be. Don't worry Rush will slam em 24/7 too. Rest assured of that!

Teams play gambling defeneses and gambling offenses when they are behind late in a game.
The democrats are trying to blitz and throw hail mary passes. They are the ones putting in back up quarter backs and using up time outs. Teams that are ahead don't do that.
Bush looks like a coach playing prevent defense and ball control offense. That is a pretty good sign of who is ahead and who is behind.

Has anyone ever said "Free Republic dittos"?
To: jraven
I think you missed the point. It would be just like the 'Rats to run Mondale as a placeholder, then replace him once elected (willingly or unwillingly) with someone else who wasn't elected. Mondale's age and the long time he's been in mothballs makes this seem a likely scenario, given the circumstances in which his candidacy came into being. Rush wasn't attacking him solely on the basis of his age.
To: GenXFreedomFighter
So that is why we need to elect a GOP governor in Minnesota on Tuesday. Tim Pawlenty is the GOP candidate and has a slight lead in the polls. If Mondale wins, and I am hopeful that he will not, then he is stuck for at least 4 years, or the seat flips to the GOP.

(Rumsfeld should IMMEDIATELY resign or be removed from his post; he is 70)."Democrats have been using age as a campaign platform for DECADES.
They shouldn't dish it out if they can't take it, and Mondale dished it out to Reagan when Carter/Mondale campaigned against him for president. Come to think of it, Leftenburg did it to his then 72 year-old Senatorial opponent years ago.
Mondale is still living in the '70's. He's unable to change. The moment he lost the ability to change, to adapt to the changing political environment, he became too "old" to offer his constituents anything but misery. C'mon, man: Mondale even speaks like his BRAIN dried up decades ago!
To: cake_crumb
I think we should make hay on the fact that because he's black in a majority white state, the Dems turned down a Minnesota Supreme Court Justice who wanted to run.
To: TLBSHOW
Because they are going to lose big time next week. I want to go on the record as agreeing with you.

The Democrats can run Thomas Jefferson in 2004 as their presidential nominee. ;-)
