MIAMI (AP) -- Gov. Jeb Bush's Democratic rival and hundreds of Haitian-Americans called on lawmakers to help the more than 200 Haitian migrants who remained detained Thursday, two days after the nation watched them jump from a crowded freighter and struggle ashore.

The governor's Democratic rival, Bill McBride, said Wednesday he had sent a letter to President Bush, the governor's brother, urging him to issue an executive order releasing the Haitians and allowing them to "seek immediate asylum hearings rather than be subjected to indefinite detention."I bet this sits well with tax paying Floridians. Oh, wait a minute, Bill McBride (D) is fawning before a different constituency. My bad. Sorry.

How to we know there isn't a "Haitian" named Muhammad Abar in this crowd? Send them home. Haiti is a democratic country. Piss off.

I do not owe anything to any foreigner from anywhere. Send all illegal immigrants back!! They are needed to straighten out their own country.

Yesterday Jeb was ambushed by Carrie Meeks, D-Rep in Miami - again too convenient. Here's an email I sent her today - assuming she can read!!.
Rep. Meeks:
You should be ashamed of your performance yesterday "demanding" that Gov. Bush "call his brother" about the illegals who landed in Miami. Are you doing the bidding of the Clintons and McAuliffe by trying to "humiliate" the President - as was reported in Newsweek?
You've been in Congress for how long? What have YOU done to protect illegals? You are out of touch with the voters in FL if you think we want any more illegals collecting welfare which I remind you, is paid for with our hard earned tax dollars.
Why don't you do something positive like insisting the INS be re-organized so they can better protect our borders.

This is just great. Some folks obey the law and go through
the process and others just walk or swim right into America. The jumpers have a Democrat lobbyist bigmouth waiting in Florida to scream how unfair it is? It is time to get tough or there will be a Florida from hell.

So...Florida Dem's would like Haiti as our 51st state ?

Yesterday I was listening to a radio show and some race baiting hate monger kept saying that the Haitians were being held for deportion because they were African-Americans. Huh?

Bush no doubt will believe the conventional wisdom from the media and buckle, but of course he would be falling into the trap. He should borrow the line from his brother about how improving their homeland is the solution while at the same time reiterating his support for the law and above all mentioning "fairness" (for legal immigrants and taxpayers). Simply put Haitian-Americans as a distinct group do not have the statewide clout and from what I gather they are not all that loved by even their fellow blacks, race baiting by the Left notwithstanding.

McAuliffe said he was going to humiliate the Busehs. Is this part of the plan?
A caller to Rush pointed out that the Hatians landed on the inland side of Key Biscayne, that there were shoals all around and that the boat had to come through a narrow channel. All of this smacks of planning.
Why were they NOT put ashore in Miami where they could have spread to the winds, but instead put in an area where they could be islolated and rounded up?
Also, it was pointed out that these people didn't look like they had been at sea on this boat for the number of days it took to arrive. Were they transferred to this boat closer in?

I also heard at least one report that there was a "lawyer" waiting there on one of the pick-up trucks that "just happened" to be in the area....does anyone have confirmation of this ???
